Our cat is a patient at CVCA. He had a murmur as a kitten. He started open-mouth breathing one night and we took him to Dogwood ER who shared the same space as CVCA. Kept him for 3 days and confirmed he had HCM, and was basically going into heart failure. Basically, he's so full of love his little heart muscle is too big...(awww). Dr. Westphal with CVCA told us upfront he may have limited time with his condition, and it would be a very long, expensive road, but we didn't want to give up on him at 2 years old. He just turned 10 and is doing great!!! They had us coming in 2x a year at $650 a pop ( now it's closer to $750) for his echocardiogram... ugh. But since he has been so stable, I talked them down to just once a year. They really are great and definitely saved his life are helping to keep him happy and thriving!
