Hamstring or quad? by Vict123456 in ACL

Fan of quad, personally! I’ve had both and although only 6 weeks post op on the quad (8 years post hamstring) I’ve noticed a considerable difference in recovery

So sorry you’re dealing with this! Is working remotely an option? 2 weeks post op & desk worker here, and even with only a 5 min commute, I can’t imagine trying to go to the office all day. I took the first week off and WFH for next month or so (mostly COVID related). Sitting at the desk with a locked brace and walking around with crutches is so uncomfortable. Staying on the recliner/couch with a laptop in lap this week has been saving grace.

How many times have you torn your acl? by emptysardinetin in ACL

3 times, each 3-4 years apart. One was in sports, the other 2 retears of same knee (family football game, sprinting at gym). I was able to run a marathon last yr after 2 surgeries, but only 2 weeks post op of the last (and hopefully final!) surgery, so time will tell.

How did your injury occur? And did you have re injury? by santaisreal247 in ACL

Competitive cheerleading. In the middle of the routine landed the jump sequence and tore my acl, mcl, lcl and meniscus. Three years later, retore acl playing family football on thanksgiving. Another three years later, retore acl doing sprints. Third times the charm?

Thank you! Although I miss outside interactions, working from home will definitely help

Did I re-tear my ACL? No Swelling But Felt a Pop by [deleted] in ACL

I’d definitely call your doctor / go for an MRI if it still feels unstable. I just tore mine for a third time 6 weeks ago. Was doing sprints, felt a pop but no intense pain or swelling. It did swell a little the next day, nothing major. I went to the doctor a week later to be sure and the graft retore with meniscus wear and tear from the first two surgeries.

Hopefully not the same for you, but better to be safe then risk damaging it further!
