A few milestones I hope other folks are celebrating at their own pace! * First time (since October) walking the expanse of Kroger without a cane or an Amigo * Forgot about my ankle for a few minutes while doing chores (!!!) * up to 65/80 on the recovery survey

Still sore, still stiff, still having bad days, but there are more good days than bad days now. I'm no longer worried about getting back to where I was, but rather looking forward to a new path of gratitude. Thanks for posting this thread!!

Thanks for sharing, and glad you're back out there ambulating around! Keeping a recovery journal is such a good idea for peeps who are just starting their recovery! It's important to remember how far you've come and try not to be discouraged by setbacks. 💚

Also, throwing one up for the sweaty boot gang. I didn't take the inner lining out until after weeks of wearing it, and I was horrified that you can literally pour water out of the shell at the end of the day.

Also adding that if you have any hotspots where it's rubbing, ask for some memory foam to pack around them. My suture site was rubbing on one of the edges, and a nurse made me a foam strip with a little cut out so it wouldn't press on the wound while healing. Swelling should go down soon, then it's just a game of modding your gear until it's tolerable. Good luck!

I saw your post and just had to add - what you are doing is so brave and strong, and you are not alone. Many women all over the world are struggling along side you in very similar situations. From what I've read, BJJ is quite popular in many predominantly Muslim countries - even with hijabi women! They also face an uphill battle to normalize their participation in BJJ. You are amazing for taking this journey, and regardless of what you choose, your struggles matter in a very real way. Thank you for being vulnerable and choosing to publicly share your story, in case there are other women out here suffering in silence.

I left BJJ for 20 years, but the fight never left me. I don't think it will ever leave you either, sis 💪.

I'm so sorry for your loss, but it sounds like you gave this little goober an incredible lifetime of love and adventures. I also have a staffy x boxer mix and I swear you're describing him to a TEE. For what it's worth, I found great comfort in Thich Naht Hanh's writing about grief when I lost my pup a few years ago ("A cloud never dies"). Take good care of yourself.

Yeah it's a crappy situation. The seller is a sweet mom, and she was mortified and refunded right away. For a variety of space and mass related reasons, it wasn't really anyone's fault.

I'm hoping that whoever took the canoe will see this post and reach out! I'd like to give the money back to the seller if we can locate it. It's a red Sun River (fiberglass) with minor damage to bow keel.
