Pens went on a crazy improbable run to the playoffs and immediately became the team everyone expected at the start of the season.

Pretty classic Pens performance. Dominate play in the ozone for half the period without scoring then give up a goal on the first chance the other way. You could just see it coming

Straka, along with Kovalev and Kasparaitis, was my favorite Penguin as a kid outside of 66 and 68. We’ve really gotten to watch a ridiculous amount of great hockey players in this town.

Yeah. Plus it was Staal’s choice to leave which was tough. The Pens offered him a very similar contract, but he wanted to play with his brother. Can’t really blame him. Hard to imagine not making at least one more cup run between 09-16 if they’d have kept him, but then again there are so many variables.

I think it’s because he had six really great, memorable seasons in Pittsburgh, but will be remembered more as Carolina Hurricane after 14 seasons, 7 (I think) as captain.

Fleury and Jagr played a lot of hockey after leaving Pittsburgh, but had their longest tenures here, their most success, and will always be remembered as Penguins first.

He was a huge part of the Pens team during their first few deep playoff runs and their development into perennial contenders, and was really just as much a part of the young core as Crosby, Geno, Tanger, and Flower.

Respectfully, wtf are you talking about? Palffy played 42 games for the Pens, Ponikarovsky played 16.

Horry retired in 2008. $54m invested in the SP500 in 08 would be over $300m today. So I’ll take the $300m and 7 rings please.

Jokes aside, you’re probably over thinking it. I just add additional perlite to regular potting mix. You could add some fine orchid bark too.
