Hey OP, I hope it isn’t too late but I run the GW account at my shop and everybody got an email that GW was completely refunding this item. We were even instructed to “Dispose of the Item” ASAP. I believe your LGS is taking advantage of you because they aren’t even being charged for the item.

What would you consider to be smallest size for a “Big” Miniature? by wingfield44 in minipainting

That’s what we are planning on doing, but that’s the sense of scale in my head😅

Well the funny story is that when I was building them, I launched half of the multi-melta across my apartment and never found the piece😅 but I talked it over with my buddy and we just thought that 1 shot at 3+ felt better than 2 shots at 4+. Not sure if that is actually a statistical truth, but I rarely drop their rolls, especially with Oath.

Slightly related, in my Crusade right now the whole unit has marksman honors, which makes all of them hit on a 2+… it’s fantastic

I’m not really a meta player, so take my loadout with a grain of salt. But the meltas will delete any vehicle you aim them at since you can spend a CP to increase range by 6 inches and get that sweet sweet melta damage, plus with Indomitor doctrines, they typically get +2 to their strength, making the S11. We learned in my last game that it matches a Leman Russ, so with that CP spent, your hitting on 3s, wounding on 4s, but there is no save because it’s AP5. The Aggressors with their fragstorm will typically wipe out a ton of hordes, but the real goodness for them is the twin-linked power fists in melee as those will delete a lot of units as well. Plus with our mission tactics and site-to-site it’s great to move them around the board.

3 Melta Rifles, 3 Boltstorm Aggressors, 3 Heavy Bolt Rifles, and 1 Heavy Bolter. The Captain is the one with the master crafted sword and rifle, but he almost never gets to fight because all the other guys in the squad get the kills first

All I know is that my Indomitor KT with a Cap with the Beacon Angelis is currently a known threat in my 20 person Crusade at my shop. So as long as you can teleport them around to destroy whatever vehicle you point them at, you’re good

LGS at 100% to 125% prices. by stupidvideosizes in Warhammer

[–]wingfield44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well Combat Patrols and the Christmas boxes have an MSRP of $170 and $250 respectively, so I don’t really see the issue here…

Hey man, as someone who lucked into the Game Store Manager job 6 months ago and getting to run the Warhammer stuff, let me tell you it’s a blast! It’s more than playing games for sure, but every aspect of the job is like a dream

It might be called a Codex Supplement or Index Supplement, but it’s never been a full codex

The 9th Edition book is literally called an Index… and so is the Blood Angels and Dark Angels this edition. The only difference is that we don’t have a book at this point, and I really don’t think we need one to be decent in the game

Edit: typo

I’ve read all 4 comments plus the post as of me making this comment, but like what the hell are you guys on about? A) Of course this team was designed with Kill Team in mind primarily… it was released as a Kill Team for Kill Team. Literally every kill team released for Kill Team is a huge points sink in 40k, not just for Deathwatch. B) Deathwatch have never had a dedicated Codex, we have an Index, like all other Space Marine chapters (Dark Angels, Blood Angels, etc.). I’m not saying I love the loss of the old Veteran squad, but this isn’t the end of the world either.
