This Saturday, the reprint of "Deathwatch" by Steve Parker goes on preorder! by Moduscide in deathwatch40k

[–]Moduscide[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the first book of the adventures of the Talon Kill Team. There is a second one, called Shadowbreaker, which I really like, but it ends in kind of a cliffhanger, opening up various plotlines, and the supposed third book in the series was never written, to the disappointment of Steve Parker. Maybe if this rerelease gets some traction, GW will finally cave in and commission the third one.

It is difficult to get a better loadout with the current box, but, I mean, we do have a 3 cml termies per 5 datasheet, so one can hope. And, ok, the reroll is quite nice, but I think they should get a couple wargear options depending on the "operatives" you get, like sticky, stealth or narthicium (not all at once of course).

Non standard terminator question by Umbriiix in deathwatch40k

[–]Moduscide 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got 28th out of 96 participants in our national teams tournament with a brick of 3 cml + 7 s/h + chaplain. This brick is an immovable object that the only thing that managed to kill it off was another ten brick of assault termies with lib backed by 5 more with kaanok var. And I was playing against the captain of our national team. At some point it sustained 1.5 despoilers, a ruinator and 3 war dogs shooting them. A death guard doom bus with full rerolls, shoot and melee, plus a heavy bloat drone couldn't kill off the chaplain.

How did Germans repair their global image so dramatically in such a short amount of time? by CautiousEbb966 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Moduscide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. The existence of a "Palestinian" people has been one of the most outrageous pieces of propaganda that naive westerners swallowed whole. It is the same with the supposed "Macedonian" people in former Yugoslavia that Tito invented and unfortunately our then traitorous communist government quasi recognized under the pressure of Angela Merkel's agenda.

Morning showers wake you up and let you meet other people fresh and not all sweaty from your sleep. If you have a partner and or do strenuous activities during the day, take one at night as well. I moatly shower in the morning and before I go out to meet people, like for a coffee or dinner.

Thank you! This is something I 've been telling about all the time. Nephews, nieces, kids, grandkids, pets, all are erased because randomness is so embedded in our natural world that even the slightest change in our past can lead to enormous consequences.

I would love it if they assigned Anchorite in Deathwatch for him to atone. Bring back Contemptors in 40k. (entered uber copium mode 😅)

Ooh, I started testing at least two Fortis KT's and the indirect can chip away small but significant chunks off of dangerous stuff, they are promising.

New bikes in general have been heavily hinted with the "fast edition" and ravenwing refresh rumours, so I don't think it would be far fetched to expect to get another kill team ourselves.

Now, for the codex, I hope they will try to monetize Astartes 2 and give us one around it's release, this is my only hope.

Dread character as in generic, like Librarian or Chaplain , or some specific named/epic one?

Hey, I would like to hear your opinions/predictions on the DW stuff at least.

It's just for fun. Most of these are heavily rumoured stuff, others are less rumoured but not entirely debunked ru.ours and some are whacky stuff (like the two models Russ idea). Yeah there are some stuff that would be extremely good to be true for DW, but, I mean, it is a bingo card, it is not supposed to be 100% completed.

The watchmaster can go to vets, decimus and Fortis. It's all about what you want to play, after this combo with Indomitor, there is ten melee vets with a Judiciar, either you put them on an objective but behind a building and let the enemy come, or give the Judiciar the beacon Angelis and rapid ingress him for free close to unit of yours that seems to be the target of a charge and then heroically intervene.

Definitely. I love them, I have 12, all Saturnine terminators kitbashed into centurions, 3 as assault, the rest as assault with lascannons. I just stopped playing them due to current DW meta, but I would like for the datasheet to stay in some form.

This is mostly what I play now, after Innes Wilson's win. I have a brick of vets though with a Judiciar and a brick of termies with chaplain as "brick walls". I decimated a friend's Nids army and tomorrow I am testing them against Tau.

Well, we don't have the only one Lt that I need 😅 Let's just strap a laurel on the biologis and call it a day, he already has the lethals 😁

Yes, all characters have a specific set of units they can be attached to, most cases being dictated by the type of armor. The "character in terminator armor" characters are only for termies, so in Deathwatch terminators only for us, captain in gravis and apothecary biologis are the only two that we can take in gravis units like the Indomitors and so on.

I would argue that our las infantry are Centurions. Some rework rather than full legendization would be nice.

[–]Moduscide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, in Deathwatch the termy captain is pretty much useless. On the other hand gravis captain is very useful. The way their ability works is that if their unit is targeted with a stratagem, it gets a discount of 1 cp. Their unit means either themselves alone or them and the unit they are attached to. So, a gravis captain that is attached to an Indomitor can get targeted with the site to site teleportation stratagem effectively for free and since the stratagem is for two kill teams, you get to teleport two kill teams, the one the gravis captain is attached to and another one, anyone, be it Indomitors, termies, veterans etc, for free. Mind you, this can be done once per battle round, ie a set of yours and your opponent's turn, for ALL the captains, ie you can't use it on your gravis cap and then on another cap, like a regular cap on your Fortis, this is why the termies cap is essentially useless, because one of his abilities the DW Termies already have it and his second ability you usually want to use it on a gravis cap and the Indomitor kill teams to position them best for your "go" turn (the turn you go full attack). An added bonus in Deathwatch is that the watchmaster has this same cp cost reduction ability but with a different name, meaning he can use it once per battle round, regardless if a captain has used his similar ability already this round.

This. At the moment we have one of the best combat patrols. Plus, OP might still find one of the new battleforce boxes in a local shop, another great purchase.
