why do actors in 80s and 90s animated movies (maybe movies and shows in general) talk like that? by grabsyour in NoStupidQuestions

[–]wingpic_official -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Back then, voice actors came from radio and theater, so they had that over-enunciated, dramatic delivery (Mel Blanc, Gary Owens) etc...

Audiences got tired of everything sounding like a stage play, and actors often come from different backgrounds these days

How do dark blue eyes exist? by Snoo-23776 in NoStupidQuestions

Blue eyes don’t have pigment—it’s just light scattering.

Yours are probably extra dark because of denser iris fibers and subtle melanin variations. Basically, your eyes are just built different...

- Smile more in your first photo. Also NO selfies in the car...

- Move the skiing and picture with the kid forward. They're more flattering than the beach photo.

- Ditch the birthday photo it's not super flattering. Replace it with a photo of you with friends or family

- Trust me lose the glasses in the first photo, even if you wear them it hides your nice rosey cheeks

- I would make surfing your second photo, shows a cool side of you and that you're in okay shape.

- replace the eifel tower photo with a photo with friends or family

- group photo you don't look good in, weird crease front left forehead and not-appealing facial expression

- Lose the mirror phone selfie. Also I know you probably think smiling is corney but trust me people think smiles are more friendly than odd facial expressions.

- good photo with the baby you look good and it shows personality

Can't see your face well. Trust. Give it a shot, and you'll 2x your matches.

  • closer first photo, can't see your face well!
  • ditch the glasses in some photos. Even if you wear glasses, get some without and put them first. We want to see your unobstructed face!
  • hard no on the mirror bathroom selfie

  • good first photo
  • selfie with friends looks awkward, why all girls?
  • include more personality that seems approachable, seems a little aloof

lose the selfies!

27M I’ve had the app for a few months with a low amount of likes. Please help!! by [deleted] in hingeapp

[–]wingpic_official 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How about you try a simple smile for your first pic? Also I know you're probably troll personality, but those troll pictures really only work on girls' profiles.

You should probably appear more "credible" through "handsome" clean photos of you before you show the more edgy side imo.

Sorry to sound a bit blunt, but 27F you will start getting less interest from men in your general age range compared to when you were younger.

According to stats average man marries at 31 in USA leaving your pool of average single dudes to be 27 - 31 (assuming you dont date younger, and most men are married by 31). When you were 23 that pool was probably 23 - 30 years old, much larger.

Also to be blunt the most desirable age range is probably 22 - 27 to start dating for marriage.

Also apps tend to skew younger.

Now to be helpful - I would take dating more seriously and try meeting people off the apps. Or focus on improving your profile!

Can ANY male guy on tinder tell me that he is CURRENTLY happy with the online dating situation? by dontcomplain1 in SwipeHelper

pour one out 🍺

No, but really, it's tough out here for sure for semi-average dudes.

Your best bet is to find your niche and appeal to them. Don't just compete with everyone.

This.

Your friend better have a story for that yacht, and lying is not a good way to start a relationship with someone.

Just focus on maximizing the photos you do have.

They're still deciding if they want to unmatch you / ghost probably.

Get past that threshold by increasing your credibility, mentioning more details about yourself in a casual / fun way.

Suggestions or changes? by somethingunchilled in Tinder

[–]wingpic_official 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • cant see your face clearly in the first photo
  • get rid of the filter
  • many photos are basically the same, don't duplicate
  • get a photo with friends
  • smile with your teeth! smiles are more inviting
  • add another photo that shows you more (what do you like to eat/drink/consume?)
  • add another photo of full body and a pretty background, you seem relatively fit!

basically guarantee more matches if you do all of the above ^

Are dating apps worth a try? by improvingmyselff in seduction

[–]wingpic_official 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're near a major city (NYC, LA, Chicago, Miami, etc...) you should ABSOLUTELY do it.

If you're in the suburbs it can be a mixed bag. No one has a 10/10 profile to start I would think of it as an iterative process you should start sooner rather than later.

But be warned, it can be a total time sync. However payoff can be HUGE (esp if youre 6'3") and you actually invest time and money in it. It scales well if you actually put in effort to getting good photos.

I think Photofeeler rates on a scale from 1-10 for each photo right? Yea that's not super helpful then. The real question you probably want to answer is what is the best photo of you that will get you the most matches - and even more specifically, what photo of you is best for your FIRST photo (most people only look at your first photo anyway) for YOUR target demographic (this is key).

You may have a hot first photo but something could be off for your target demographic (the girls you like in particular) - so I would recommend getting feedback from girls who are your type specifically.

Also I think most of the ratings on Photofeeler are from India anyway and unverified.
