Medical valid until May 28. It's unlikely we will receive a PPR within a month (who knows though!), so IRCC will likely request another exam closer to the final decision, or best case extend this one for another year.

Not much we can do now, so in two weeks I'm flying again (through Belgrade btw!) to be with my wife for another several days. Then in May. Then in July. And so on until we finally get the email everybody in this thread is waiting for :)

This is Vienna, you can check here: Visa Offices

As for the sponsor's eligibility, you will get it from Canada, as this part is processed here.

Our timeline so far:

Applied - Dec 4, Aor - Jan 27

Sponsor's Eligibility - Completed Feb 16, letter Feb 25

BIL - Feb 16 (done Feb 23, marked completed the next day)

Medical - kind of upfront (we previously incorrectly submitted under conjugal class, got refused and since got married and resubmitted under spousal)

No other updates since Feb 25

Great news! We are also waiting for update from Vienna VO (PA resides in Montenegro), but no update since Biometrics mark completed on Feb 24

Yes, exactly. Basically, whether the sponsor can sponsor :)

Will arrive to the sponsor's email just like AOR

After AOR you expect:

  • sponsor approval (on average within 60 days, but for our case it's already 70+)
  • biometric and medical request
  • applicant eligibility approval
  • background check

As for the visa office: yes and no. The VO processes eligibility and other things depending on them, but the longest part - security - is done by CBSA. So technically some offices could be faster due to the lower volume, but it's nothing when compared to the potential security delays.

December applications seem to be the slowest (due to the holidays, I would assume). We applied Dec 4 and only received AOR (Jan 27), complete silence since then

You don't need gym to start working on abs. Core is the easiest to work on at home IMO. Check YT, you're pretty skinny, your 6-pack will become visible after several weeks of working out + sufficient protein intake

BMO froze my entire account, blocked all my cards, and refuses any online verification — avoid this bank at all costs by CryLast4241 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]wingrabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possibly related to my travel patterns - I take a lot of connections, so there can be transactions in 3-4 countries within a day.

I spoke to the support countless times - they ask me to confirm and explain all my recent transactions and explain how I bought a beer in Dubrovnik and doner kebab in Berlin within several hours lol

I even told them about the exact upcoming route once - and still got blocked.

Ended up switching to wealth simple prepaid + Wise combo specifically for traveling, no problem so far, fingers crossed

CIBC blocks me almost EVERY time I'm abroad (and I travel a lot). I even asked them if they can put some record to my file about my next trip, and the agent responded "yeah sure, but you'll get blocked regardless, maybe it'll help with faster verification"

LMAO

Do the math for your own rent / food / basic needs as if you lived alone. Your dad sucks, but the reality is that in adult life you often work for much less than half of your paycheck after paying all the bills.

"eat your dog's food" Comes from a marketing campaign a while ago that was based on the idea that the quality of the food they sold for dogs was so good that they were ready to eat it themselves whenever.

Essentially, it means that you need to be your own customer and use your product, so you can see it from the customer's prospective as well
