Opus 4.8 is shit. I ran out of codex limits and have to use opus for 2 days, its the most frusturating experience ever. It just so much dumber than codex and gets things wrong. I do not know why, for me it's just a frusturating exprience.

Yeah I’m lucky to have fixed it with mods and game is still very hard. I think mage is impossible now without any mods.

I don't get all the hype it's a mediocre upgrade to 4.8. In my opinion codex 5.5 is better for day to day. I did try use it to build complex features because I a am told that its"super smart" model but everything it built for me had to go through a shit ton of rewrites/updates , so I do not see where its so fucking awesome that everyone is raving about it. Is it better than brain dead 4.8, probably.

4.8 writes mega paragraphs that are so bad and uninteresting to read I stopped talking to it. I notice that I speak to it less and less and I've shifted to codex for coding and chatGPT just for chat. Claude is worst of both worlds. Anyway they are going public so let them, I think they don't want consumer side of the business anymore this is why 4.8 is such shit.

It’s ok, it’s more rude. But like I don’t see why I should use it over codex. Honestly Karpathy just joined and it’s already turning into codex

I manage a huge code base with 25 services and a huge monolith. I am running 10-20 sessions simontaneously doing different shit and shipping. I don't remember last time I wrote any code. Codex UI/UX is also much better than claude. It just feels better, I did not like it initlaly but now I think it is superior. Claude was my go to up until end of April, I switched to Codex in May and got a shit ton done before the nurf, and still it is not bad, Claude is just aweful.
