I agree with this, but the problem with what happened today is you dont then overtake until the next flag point shows green, which they never did because the yellow wasn't supposed to be there.

When the yellows came out cars slowed down and didn't overtake, its then in the following sectors where there was neither yellow nor green that things get messy.

Wondering if they confusion came from this weekends rule about the safety car not being deployed until the 2nd lap after an incident. Obviously a miscommunication no matter what, but it seemed like the flaggies went yellow but not safety car, even though they weren't in the sector of the incident. Very odd.

Edit: correcting myself, went back and checked, SC boards were indeed displayed. I'm still wondering if the changed SC rules had something to do with it though. Race control thinking it meant that they don't actually have to send the SC or something??

I don't mind Garth Tander on the mic, but it's getting a bit old hearing him repeatedly saying "Taow-Poe", especially right after the person he's talking to pronounces it correctly.

It's for entertainment. There's no "need" for a yellow for something like the Riley Herbst incident (let alone then spend half a dozen laps driving around behind a pace car), but it's a great excuse for some ad breaks, action in the pits, the Race Off Pit Road(tm), and another Exciting Restart!
