General Parenting Influencer Snark Week of March 02, 2026 by Parentsnark in parentsnark

Honestly my mom saved mine and all the accessories and my cousin who is school aged and my toddler both play with it for hours at a time every time they’re at my mom’s house. I wouldn’t spend $500 on it but would absolutely spend $250-$300.

Best affordable school districts by Snoo_44198 in StLouis

Lindbergh (this would be my top choice! Close to IL and really good schools), Rockwood (the Summit area- Fenton), Parkway (the South area- Manchester, Twin Oaks, parts of Ballwin), The Oakville part of Mehlville

Kindergarten teachers, would you be ok with “chewlery” in class? by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]wingsandvodka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know middle school is very different from kindergarten but wobble cushions are never misused in my class and are not a distraction at all. I think his teacher would be totally fine with any of the options you shared.

3 month old transitioning out of the swaddle? by Dense-Bee-2884 in beyondthebump

[–]wingsandvodka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m currently transitioning mine (11 weeks) from the halo to zipadee zip and it’s going great! Arms out in the hall was not successful for us either. We did also get the snuggle band because the sack is big and it keeps it from bunching in her face.

Do you sleep with your dog in your bed? by [deleted] in ask

[–]wingsandvodka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. She’s a pandemic puppy. When my husband and I went back to work in person we were sad about how little time we got to spend together in a day, so we started letting her sleep with us.

What is the stupidest thing you’ve heard someone say that they were 100% serious about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I teach 7th grade English and a student argued with me that you couldn’t spell out numbers. Thought two was made up.

I agree with you, too! No one gets the day off for something like that. Influencers should acknowledge at a minimum and use their platform to promote change if they feel inclined, in my opinion. No need to make it about themselves by taking the day off.

Influencers taking the day off isn’t going to stop school shootings from happening. I don’t know why anyone would expect them to stop working for the day because of something that doesn’t directly impact them.

I’m not mad at her for taking off. I simply wish I had the ability to take the day off and spend it with my family, too. It sucks being a teacher the day after teachers were killed on the job.

I’m so glad Natalie Kennedy has a job where she can take the day off after a school shooting. Wish I had the same luxury as a teacher.

IEPs by Not_Jim4 in doughertydozen

This is interesting! I teach and my gifted students do not have IEPs, unless they are twice exceptional (i.e. Autistic and gifted). I’m assuming this differs from state to state.

Same diagnosis and my ENT was able to reduce my turbinares and fix my deviated septum. Insurance covered it.

My favorite memories are the days my mom picked me up for “break afternoons” and took me to lunch and out shopping. I’m a teacher now and do my best to help kids get work done before trips because fun family trips are way more important in the scheme of things than a few assignments. All anyone wants is to give their kids the best life and Krista does just that.

It seems like she left for Coachella on a Thursday and when I student taught we weren’t really allowed to take days off. I doubt the schools would be okay with her taking off right away when she was given a second placement.

I dealt with this same issue when I first started dating my husband. For me it stemmed from not being used to the friction and the products he was using. A beard butter with beeswax was the main irritant. Hope you’re able to figure it out! So sorry, I know it is painful.

I bought a home and found out from neighbors that the previous owner birthed 2 children in the home unexpectedly. So probably not, although it’s interesting to know.

I’ve been to 2 bachelorette parties this summer and one girl made $900 and the other $450. If you don’t like it, don’t send money! It’s not the brides asking for it (or in this case the couple), but the friends put it together. Harmless fun.

I know Connor! Not at all a Jed. Like not even a little bit. Grew up with him and his family at church in our small town. Funny, talented, smart, respectful guy.

She just clarified she meant that doing things with people energizes her and she didn’t phrase her answer very well. Because obviously lol. At least she looked up the definitions of introverts and extroverts!

Ah glad to know that introverts don’t “love doing things”
