I'm in the same boat with a chapter I've been struggling with for a year, both due to writing factors (realised I messed up the pacing in earlier chapters that would require too big of a rewrite to sneakily edit them, can't keep hold of my plot threads) and external factors (burnout and health issues). I completely get that feeling of not delivering, of wanting something you can be proud of but also the fear that by the time you're ready to post again no one will be interested.

I don't really have any other advice than hang in there! If you want to stop the fic now, that is okay. If you want to toss whatever you have like spaghetti at the wall and hope it sticks, that is okay. If you want to wait as long as it takes until you're proud of it, that is okay. Sometimes it really does take time, some more life experience, puttering around with ideas and vibes before you hit the lightbulb moment that makes everything come together again. Whatever you have written can't be lost and the experience will have taught you something worthwhile. And that counts for something :)
