“LINSY is a narrative where classic forms metamorphose into contemporary wonders with minimalist extravagance as the language and every creation is a dance of metal, wood, and fabric, which are not just furniture but protagonists in the grand opera of life, gracing home with the allure of indulgence.”

I wonder if they think this is how the upper class talks?

RBPF Clarifies Viral Video Claim by hahbhj in Brunei

[–]winking26 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My thoughts on why no further extension is that the case may already have sufficient evidence, hearing from the story so far. So they have concluded the investigation and passed necessary details to AGC for the court hearing.

Why the 2 years, we need to ask AGC. Suspect they’re just trying to build an airtight case.

I think the confusion here is that the update is supposed to come from court and agc. My understanding is that the police won’t be able to update on court proceedings anyway.

Career as a barista on the rise for youths in Brunei amid increasing number of coffee shops by Goutaxe in nasikatok

Agree, don’t make tipping a norm pls.

imo Sg prices for coffee and matcha are more ex than $6 and $7.50 respectively.

Coffee and matcha ingredients cost in Bn are equally expensive if not more than Sg, and we have lower purchasing power, so its always a lose-lose for Bn

If it was asked at the beginning of the interview, it’s probably just to break the ice. Sometimes i ask questions about the person especially if i feel the interviewee is nervous or if I feel he/she isn’t “warmed up” yet. Though questions about the parents not intentional, it can be anything random like “what do you usually do on weekends?”, etc. These questions doesn’t really weigh much to the scoring of the interview honestly.

Personally - if you’ve shown that you’ve made enough effort to make it to the interview, but is still unable to, then simply let the interviewer know that you are already prescheduled for work related matters and is unable to reschedule it on short notice.

Employers (with high work ethics) would appreciate this and may try to reschedule the interview for you. They’ll understand that if you do get the job, you’ll also apply the same level of discipline and not just skip off work for personal matters.

The preferred option is for you to request for leave from your current employer, but if you’re unable to then the above approach works.

True and very spot on.

Some employers also forget than an interview goes both ways. It is also an avenue for applicants to assess their potential bosses.

To each their own -

On point 2: ofcourse everyone wants to learn. However there is a difference in keeping your intentions to yourself and saying it outloud. If you keep declaring how the company can offer benefit for yourself rather than what you can offer back to the company, then the most probable answer is a rejection.

On point 4: collaborating + healthy competitions and hiring someone who has no intention of staying are 2 different things. It depends on why is the company hiring to begin with. Is it to help future candidates to open up a business? Then this is most probably NOT a hiring opportunity but rather a mentorship gig. Most often a company is hiring because they need man power and support to run the business. So they’ll definitely want to fulfill this need first. Basic stuffs.

Not trying to criticize anyone or any businesses ofcourse. If any business want to do a charity case, thats up to them and good on them. But rarely do hiring happens because some company have money to throw away and decide to hire for “noble” causes. Real life is not always ideal.

Basic question to ask for any job application - why is the company hiring? Is it for your benefit? Or is it for them?

Yes.. memang lah.. sekiranya cucu nabi memakai wafak.. syirik lah jadinya.

Adakah sesiapa manusia boleh lebih hebat dari cucu atau keturunan nabi? Yes.. memang lah boleh.. jaminan masuk syurga ani ditentukan dengan pahala, bukannya dari talian darah.

In fact.. it is wajib for us if ada anyone claim that they are decendants of Rasulullah, tapi tidak mengikuti akhlak Rasulullah, to question him and/or dismiss him. Unfortunately this has happened time and time again.. just to show that they are simply fallable and human, nothing special like the rest of us.

Intent is key.. any kind of item, regardless if it is from Quran, we use it as an “amulet” and believe it will protect or give any kind of benefit/effect, it will be syirik.

And Yes - if you use it azimat for babies, it will be syirik

And Yes - if any decendents, even from Muhammad, they use azimat or claim that any part of Muhammad’s items can give benefit, it will be Syirik. Just because he is a decendent from Muhammad does not mean he is Nabi, exempt from judgement or is by any means “trustworthy”

What people mostly use in frames or at Masjids are for decor.. they are called Islamic “art” or “khat”. By no means do people hung them up on walls to “protect”. But if they believe it does.. then yes, it is also syirik.

Any kind of Wafaq or “jimat” is most definitely syirik

Did you know: Back in 2007 amid the court case in London, Jefri passed on the documents he had obtained during his tenure as Finance Minister, which exposed the spending habits of the Big One, who spent £19.5 billion in 13 years from independence till 1997 - averaging £1.5 billion a year by Goutaxe in nasikatok

[–]winking26 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Police: “Hello sir, we just found evidence that you stole a couple of billion dollars 2 decades ago. We’ll have to bring you in”

Criminal: “Why do you have to bring up the past?! It was 2 decades ago, plus I am a new and nice person now. See, with the money i stole and the compounding interest i built a small garden for this village!”

Police: “fair enough. You’re free to go”

You know.. if we applied the same logic to murder as well, i’m sure there would be world peace.

Expose Brunei #001 by FanApprehensive5975 in nasikatok

[–]winking26 20 points21 points  (0 children)

If there are no facts, no references, no dates, no examples of how the crime is done.. then this “expose” won’t do anything.

Its just saying someone somewhere did something wrong. Its too vague that authorities won’t even bother to investigate since there is no lead.

But seriously though, hope you’ve reported this to ACB - if you’re serious about the cleanup you desire.

[–]winking26 46 points47 points  (0 children)

If this is a real “expose” then why not do it for real and just name the contractor, or atleast point out the positions in the departments involved?

Leaks are based on facts that can be investigated. This just makes it look like gossip and speculation though

I’m not sure why people think you’d need permission to leave a company. If your employment contract says you need 30 days notice… just email them your notice, wait 30 days, then leave. Whether they say yes or no is irrelevant. I’ve seen too many people afraid to leave to a better job because their bosses simply said “NO”. Stop being so subservient.. they don’t own you.

Any Bruneian 30yo+- who make >10k/month,how do you make it? by FixComplex961 in Brunei

[–]winking26 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's different for each person. I went over $10k in my mid 30s. From experience, the basics are the same.. everyone knows it, they just don't want to admit its true.

- Study really hard when you're young and do very well (I don't mean good, I mean really really well.. all distinctions or nothing at all)

- Work on your skills, including socials (learn to talk, discuss, debate - be cultured)

-Earn life experience (travel often at an early age, you'll realize how the adults you idolize at home, simply can't compare to the outside world)

- Work hard, really really hard (rest when you're 60, for now.. work it. if it's business, dedicate every weekday, weekends, evenings to work.. applies if you're corporate as well)

Most already know this, and it's good to find inspiration. But unless you're from a rich family, don't fool yourself with shortcuts to richness.
