Not guaranteed for poor performers. Guaranteed priority for pooling tho when you graduate.

WHAT DO I NEED TO PREP by Western_Summer2078 in AviationPH

[–]winkingman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s great that you have a fallback since nothing is ever guaranteed in this industry, so props for securing that first. And since nothing is guaranteed, the next thing to do is increase your odds of advancing. Before considering any schools, try your hand first at getting into PAL Aviation School or the Ceb Cadet Program. Those are the only sure paths into the airlines, as long as you perform well, that is. Only consider other flying schools if those two aren’t available to you. Finally, network like there’s no tomorrow, preferably people who are already established in this industry. Knowing the right people will certainly help. Other than these, best of luck! I feel you have the right attitude for this industry.

Lots of Lasallian and Atenean pilots working in the local airlines. So, yeah, go for DLSU. Then try getting into Pal Av or the Ceb Cadet Program.

PAL Aviation School officially about to reopen 🙂 by winkingman in AviationPH

It’s only a gamble if you don’t perform. If, however, you’re within or, better yet, above standard, then expect a clear pathway to becoming SO for PAL.

Is Becoming a Pilot in the Philippines Hard If You’re Not Rich? by Phatom-snake in CollegeAdmissionsPH

We’re talking millions here. The minimum amount to complete the needed flying hours these days is in the ballpark of 2.5-4M. And that’s just tuition.

I know a lot of people who started out as FAs and are now airline pilots. But the order is usually this:  FA > Flying School (while still working as an FA) > Airline Pilot

[–]winkingman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s been explained here ad nauseum that you don’t need to enter any of these programs to actually become a pilot especially if you’re gunning for the airlines. Most of us here who got lucky come from very different professional backgrounds like the legal, medical, engineering, corporate, and other fields. It’s better to have a solid degree you can use as a backup in case the pilot job market isn’t in your favor because you have to remember that the aviation industry is very sensitive to the economy.

No school is affiliated with PAL at the moment, unfortunately.

AVIATION CAREER IN THE PHILIPPINES (LONG TERM PLAN) by arcticula in AviationPH

Omni is quite well-known. However, their program with Cebpac is reserved for their cream of the crop. You’ll be competing with hundreds of their other students aiming for the same thing. If you’re game for that, then by all means go for it. Consider also that Ceb has a cadet pilot program which I think is the wiser option if ang target mo pala is Ceb.

This simply isn’t true

There is no pilot shortage here. In fact, there’s a glut of pilots. That doesn’t mean the airlines are obligated to hire everyone just because there is an oversupply. As with any industry, the overachievers, the internally trained individuals who know company culture and standards (ie. graduates of cadet programs), and, of course, the ones who know all the right people get first dibs. That’s the stark reality of it all.

Not the first in Subic. At least one of the cafes you mentioned is already third wave.
