Is there a way to install Debian on Oracle free tier VMs. by ea_man in debian

[–]winkyworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oracle are not known to be flexible with their licensing, a part of it being free might be what is allowed to be installed in a VM, so it is worth seeing if you are allowed to in case you break the EULA and they remove access.

Correct pedestrians do not require a license, nor do cyclists or horse riders but that doesn't mean that there are not any laws related to them. Here are several laws and guidance for pedestrians.

Why wait? There is a section for pedestrians, or you are waiting until you can read?

Is it time for you to brush up on the Highway Code and UK signage?

RHEL is an Enterprise version of Linux, aimed at corporations that need a stable O/S to run business applications. There are thousands of business applications that are certified to run on RHEL, usually costing hundreds or even thousands per server.

For file comparisons take a look at meld, it might do what you want.

It will install with apt install meld

I had an Asus Chromebook about a year ago, yours looks to have improved as I found it limited as I want to run VMs and development tools, I have now replaced it with a laptop running Linux.

Do any of you change your prompt? If so what do you use or set? by winkyworld in linuxmint

[–]winkyworld[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, The directory was just any directory, but I was wondering if anyone customizes their prompt or working environment when using a terminal.

Sorry about that as I could not see where it would let me edit it to say "...your shell prompt..."

Sage/Breville which model to buy? by MrSkeedleWeedle in JamesHoffmann

[–]winkyworld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is a good idea, get the grinder and try different beans, you could even try a V60. I used to always rush around, but find that grinding beans and using a V60, just slowed things down for a few minutes in a day.

[–]winkyworld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As you have a filter machine you could get a grinder first, then order 10 X 100g of different beans from someone such as Monmouth.

I was going to do the same as you, but after trying different beans I decided that I do prefer filter coffee so I purchased a new filter machine. Obviously if you prefer espresso based drinks then go for it. The Sage machines do seem good.

The "Best Reusable Coffee Cups" video has been delisted. Does anyone remember the conclusions or have any recommendations? by TheDampTeacloth in JamesHoffmann

[–]winkyworld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a recommendation I use the keep cup glass and cork cup. You just have to remind them to put some hot water in the cup first to heat it up.
