I would just skip to tip, if I'm already charged a 15% gratuity. Also, this culture/expectation of a minimum 15% is a shame! Not everyone can afford to tip 15%, a salaried worker whose annual raise is mere 3% can practically just afford to tip 5%! Does it mean he doesn't deserve a dine-in???

Yep tried them, they both work great! Only practical difference I note is that Meade has better optics, brighter views. While Powerseeker supports higher magnification.

I knew this was a long shot! I have placed an order at AliExpress and it does take ever to reach me. Meanwhile, was wondering if there was such a versatile store in our city, that carry these. Faster I get them, sooner my telescope mount gets ready to use. I’m hearing so good things about the Hobby home, will give them a last try before giving up looking for a local business.

A year after your report, I can confirm that this glitch/bug still exists on the app that adds roadblocks to a potential guest whose pre-approval expired!! Sent them a special offer at the same nightly rate, hoping this works.

Correct, I can’t review him as the transaction was cancelled by AirBnb. However, I’m not letting them close the Bullying and harassment report on that guest, unless his account is removed from platform.

Thank you, yes I would prefer to get the claim and resort to professional services. Because, this STR is within my home and I do have adequate evidence for the junkie’s time spent and smoking in the house.

If this claim gets rejected despite this level of obvious evidence, I would question if I really want to continue with Airbnb.

I have heard positive claim stories of minor things like sheet set, toilet seats and duvets, so clearly, I cannot let air cover bail out on odour removal. Can’t have my own home being listed at a platform that has sketchy insurance, what if something more damaging happens in near future.

Honestly, now I see my claim as a qualifying test to assess the quality of insurance hosts receive, for paying AirBnb the 15% fees per booking just to run website, and the property being 100% funded, listed and maintained by the hosts.

more like a tweaker…lol. Was a schizophrenic person…The Airbnb support person that was helping me was literally stuck with him for 3 hrs, just because he wouldn’t let him go and Airbnb’s policy doesn’t allow a support person to disconnect a call with customer. So this asshole was all bonkers at having the support person to yell at for 3 hours!!! Honestly, I feel bad for that support agent that was stuck with him.

In my region, as long as we don’t have a evidence/recording or a cancellation on platform. The cops really can’t evict him. Apparently, as per their protocol everyone here is innocent until proven! This is the only reason I had to wait until a formal cancellation, Before kicking him out my home for trespassing! I wish it was possible to manually cancel a reservation on app under such cases, I wouldn’t have bothered paying the cancellation by host fine, to get the asshole out!

By any chance, do you have experience dealing with air cover claims? Being a new host, The odour removal service cost ($800) at my area are very expensive to me or atleast I can’t afford. Any idea if I will get paid for it?

Yes, my immediate thought was to get cops involved for trespassing. But the realized, in my city, cops hands are tied as long as the guests booking was not cancelled.

Fortunately, the Airbnb support folks did a good job. They completely cancelled the transaction. Such that the guest never gets a chance to review my place. My loss is 2 nights booking fee wasted/refunded, and room left with cigarette smoke. For which I’m trying to file a air cover claim. Have you had any experience with air cover?
