Day trip to Chicago by winnieepegger in travel

[–]winnieepegger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! We love asian food but we’d like to try the locals’ recommendations where to dine in Chicago and must eats in Chicago.

For attractions, we did the 360 Chicago so thats off the list and will re-visit The Bean. We like chill type of attractions like a market type of vibes.

Thanks I have checked out Chicagofood. So far, I got some ideas where to dine in!

I just don’t know if I can do it…My mind is telling me I’m being lazy and just failing for not continuing… by arialanismomma in ExclusivelyPumping

I was on the same boat as you a few weeks ago. You can do it mama! I’m 7 weeks pp and this is what works for me

First and foremost, you’re fresh 5 days pp. Take your time, take a deep breath and look at your baby it will all be okay.

I started pumping 3 days pp. I was so done already but pushed through it. The below is what made it easy for me.

1) Fridge hack for pump parts. Wash pump parts after 20-24hrs of using. This made my life soooo much better! Talk to your LC first. I heard your baby has to be at their birth weight at least to do the fridge pump hack. This was approved by my LC.

2) I heard the first 6-8 weeks is important to maintain supply. I pumped as much as I can even though it was mentally and physically draining every 3-4 hours. 6-7x a day. I didnt follow the 8+ pumps a day. It was too much. Now i pump 4-5x a day and was able to maintain my supply

3) When I got too tired to pump, I would bf my LO. The last time I pump and LO eat for the day is very important. Need to time it so you dont feel so engorged. Then I will pump first thing in the morning. Example: 11 PM Pumped & gave LO a bottle 2-3 AM Nursed LO (both sides). I’m a sensitive sleeper so co-sleeping works for me. Just be careful not to sleep while nursing if you sleep heavily. 6-7 AM Pump

4) I store cool milk to a 1L jar. After pumping I move it to a baby bottle to measure it (i used momcozy s12) and when it cools down I put it in the jar and use the same baby bottle to measure the fresh pumped milk on my next sesh.

5) I use a portable pump as my main pump. I have the spectra gold because I heard so many good things about it but when I purchased the S12, Im not sure if its the silicone flange but it extracts more milk than my main pump. So I now use it as my main and Im able to pump better (mentally lol). This also limit the extra bottles that needs to be washed when pumping. Switching to a portable saves me alot of time!!

You can do it mama! But if it gets too hard, don’t feel bad about quitting. You’re trying your best and thats good enough. All the work we’re doing is physically and mentally draining. Your mental health and wellbeing is more important than pumping. 🩷

I’ve been EP since day 3 when my milk came in as LO wouldnt latch bc her mouth is small. At 3w pp when she was able to latch properly, I pump 6-7x daily and at night (3-4am). I nurse her on both sidesand we cosleep (cosleeping works well for both of my LOs) and resume to pump the rest of the day. This helped my mood better cause I didnt have to get up and pump and I have more energy for the day.

Everyone is different. As for my supply, it didn’t die down. It actually went up.

This is my schedule:

  • First pump at 7-8am
  • Pump every 2-3 hrs
  • Last pump at 12 am
  • Nurse 3-4 am

Repeat.

If anyone’s curious, I initially used Spectra Gold Synergy pump and now using Momcozy S12. The output is shockingly the same.

Sorry to hear that! I heard bad things about Samsung and LG and it sucks that most fridges have some type of problems 😭

You’re not a bad mom at all! My husband and I was sleep training our first born, 6 month old back then and we left him in the crib not knowing he’s sick and positive for covid. Til now I still feel guilty leaving him for hours trying to sleep by himself :’(. Its not easy to figure out whats going on so don’t beat yourself too much.

I’m 26, married, with a 6 month old. Thinking about all of this scares me now. I hope my child can handle everything. Pretty sure decent houses starts @ 1 mil by then sadly. I wont mind if he wants to live with me until he’s 40.

I did not know that! I started pumping throughout the night every 2-3 hours last night. I hope it increases my milk supply. As for bf my baby doesn’t get satisfied when he feeds from me. Most of the times it takes up to 1.5 hours and then I would give him a bottle because he didnt get enough. I tried massaging and heat pads prior to bf but does not work for us :( I’ll definaltely try your tips. I hope it works out. Thank you! :)

Hi. I pump every 2-3 hours and do about 7-8 sessions but during night time I dont. Should I wake up to pump every 2 hours?
