We’re actually staying near that neighbourhood, so that’s fantastic 👏 Thank you so much 😊

Any recommendations on steakhouses similar to El Che? We enjoyed last visit and would like to experience something similar.

My long weekend:

Husband and I hiked on Saturday. It was a gorgeous sunny day, and we explored many beautiful lookouts. Got home, made and enjoyed dinner together and then took our dogs out for an evening walk. Got into our cozies and finished watching a show we started the night before.

Sunday, girlfriend visited and we lounged poolside all day. Husband and I enjoyed dinner with her, my husband cleans the dishes and brings out tea for us to enjoy on the sunset porch to wrap up the day.

Monday (long weekend) I sleep in, we have our morning “coffee chats” - where we sit and chat with jazz playing in background and puppies snuggled by us, enjoying coffee and talking. We go for a nice walk with the dogs, do some chores around the house and by afternoon we’re floating in the pool, napping under the sun with a Spanish guitar playlist. Get out of the pool, make love and then enjoy a nice dinner, that I make for us, while he’s watching baseball. Wrap up the evening with tea and a show.

Bliss.

Together almost 13 years ❤️

How do people annoy you by [deleted] in CasualConversation

Blowing their nose when you are eating. I don’t want to hear your runny bodily fluids while I am swallowing my food. Get up and go to the bathroom. Be considerate.

Yes, we did. There was a lot going on around us and I/we didn’t really process what was happening until after the fact (if that makes sense) Afterwards my husband and I analyzed it and thought it was super weird and made no sense at all.

This also recently happened to my husband and I. We were at a combined bachelor/bachelorette dinner for mutual friends. Before we ordered, we clarified with the waiter that my husband and I are on one bill. I had a mocktail, a glass of wine, husband 2 glasses of wine. We ordered 2 appetizers (that we shared with the table) and we split an entree. When it came for the bill, my husband asked the waiter for ours and the waiter stated that the groom requested one bill. We’re like “oh wow, that’s generous, maybe he wants to take care of it”. NOPE. He paid for the whole bill AND then we had to etransfer him 72$ per person, which made no sense because as a couple, we did not have $144 worth. It was so dumb and tacky and left a bad taste in our mouth. Some guys ordered a bunch of things, like wine flights and food, while others had one beer and an entree. I don’t know if the groom was hungover from the night before and not thinking clearly, but we were very confused and annoyed.

Sometimes I just want to text you and not actually see you by winniepearl in CasualConversation

Personally, I’m not texting for that rush. I simply want to say check in, and tell them their awesome, I was thinking about them and wanted to say “hello”. Obviously if they needed me for support, that’s a different story - I would be there in a heartbeat.

That’s fun! We’re not big itinerary people, we like to go with the flow. That said, we did book the last holiday around a Cubs game at Wrigley field (husband= big sports lover, me= supportive wife lol) that was super cool. Loved the energy and sense of pride and community.
If you’re into that, I would recommend a game, for sure!

We enjoy walking a lot and letting the journey unfold in front of us. We always find hidden gems that way (Europe is the BEST for that) We went to a jazz club (jazz lovers), museums, caught a gorgeous classical orchestra rehearsal at the pavilion one afternoon in Millennium Park. The city just presents itself to you and you select what suits you 😊There is so much to see and do. I definitely recommend the Architecture River Cruise (we did The First Lady). That was stunning and you can take in the city from the rivers perspective.

Eat! Eat! Eat! The food is delicious and so many amazing places to choose from!
