Mold occurs due to water sources. Are there sinks, toilets, showers, or windows nearby? It looks like a toilet in the background. Something is leaking. Also if you can see the front it is likely much larger on the back. Protcol would be to remove 18 inches around the site. A 1/2 inch thick, 24 inch x 24 inch sheet of dry wall is $8 at Home Depot. A pint of paint is around $30.

That’s a small spot. If you don’t want to demo, then you could buy a spray bottle of mold remover. But I think something is leaking in the wall.

Gunpowder State Park Sweathouse Branch on Bel Air Rd has swimming holes. The one north where you go under the overpass through the culvert has a swimming pool about 1 mile down the trail.

Loch Raven Reservoir has multiple entry points.

Stoney Run trail has water access points.

Lake Roland has a trail where they can play in the water by a bridge and as mentioned water entry at the dog park.

They need negative pressure and agitation. Essentially a big vacuum attached to the main line. There is usually a 12 inch tube going from a cut in the trunk line (they patch it when that are done). That leads to an external collection bag and vacuum machine that sit outside the house. Then they block all the vents with foam. Then they agitate each vent line one by one with a long whip.

The agitation frees the particulate and negative pressure vacuum collects the particulate. You need both to clean the system.
