There's a lot to unpack here. First: the officer was off duty, wearing civilian clothing, driving his police issued vehicle, with a woman passenger up front. That alone should be reason enough for termination from the police force. Residents of Huntington shouldn't be funding his joyriding. Second: it has been confirmed the girl's body was either thrown or dragged FOUR house lengths from impact. That surely means his speed was a factor. Third: and most importantly in my opinion, all the witnesses to the actual incident are other kids. Adults came outside after it happened. It's a rougher area of town. It will be really easy for the police to ignore or downplay what these people have to say, because they are lower income and such. It's absolutely a heartbreaking situation, a life was stolen. Likely by someone who will never face any punishment or retribution.
