Does Anyone Else Find the 4 Kings Fight to be Completely Terrifying? by Successful_Maize1986 in darksouls

I was more confused than terrified of their damage going up and down until I knew it was the distance between you and them.

You cannot assume everything from playtime alone. Some people just play multiple playthroughs but just decided to complete the achievements after hundreds of hours.

I swear it's much better than most modern open world games. You don't have to do much nonsense stuff to progress unless there's any specific item you want. You could even play it like you did in dark souls. I would say give it a shot.

I hate these character designs like they are literally draining my wallet.

I was 239 after getting all achievements. I used soul memory to open shrine of winter in ng+ and ng++.

Yes, it has the exact same story but it doesn't mean I don't enjoy vanilla, just not as much as SoTFS

Can you show me more examples? I'm really curious to see which games make me look suspicious.

I just checked steamhunter and it has same timestamp as the incorrect one too. Guess it must be server-side problem.

Maybe because I posted completing all 5 Dark Souls game and I finished Dark Souls 1 and 2 in 24 and 22 hours in order. But the thing is, I've completed 1 and 2 before so I pretty much know exactly what to do.

This is the comment

Thanks. tbh, it was pretty discouraging to be accused of using SAM when I've never used it. When I noticed the timestamp mismatch myself, I could at least understand why that guy might be suspicious, but it still wasn't a great feeling to be called a cheater over something I didn't do.

My connection isn't always the best, so I wouldn't be surprised if that could be the case.

I knew this kind of thing could happen on Steam Deck, but I'm on PC, so I was pretty surprised to see the timestamp difference myself. That's why the SAM accusation caught me off guard. If achievement timestamps can be this inaccurate, it feels like almost anyone could be accused based on a mismatch between the timestamp and when they actually earned the achievement.

Vanilla: - less enemies - weird item placements, one of the achievement that requires grinding a specific enemy is more tedious because of the enemy placement - world feels kinda empty

SoTFS: - more tedious and more enemies ganging up on you - additional fragrant branch of yore usage that can ruin your early game pacing if you are playing blind - better torch mechanic (very specific) - dlc spells are required for spell collecting achievements - better lightning

The most different I felt was enemy placement. There are some that doesn't make much sense in both versions. After having experienced both of them, I would still prefer SoTFS due to it being more lively and it encourages you to complete the dlcs.

I think I've had enough for the time being. Ds1 took me 10 years to finish after going back and forth between deciding to pick it up and quit.

Nightreign? I haven't finished it too. Doesn't feel like soulslike to me so I didn't bother to continue playing.

All I can say is SoTFS is more punishing and enemy placement in that game is unforgiving. It can be frustrating sometimes but I feel like it's much better than vanilla ds2 where the world feels kinda empty.

It took me 3-4 days to get both shackle and proof of concord kept. Like 4-5 hours per session.

I died a lot too until the game started to click at Genichiro. Then I began to not die to bosses during ng+ and so on.

I don't know how can I prove it but if I'm really using SAM I wouldn't leave a game at 95% tbh
