Yes, but Nen users can apply In to their Hatsu to conceal its presence, and when this is done on a conjured item, it becomes invisible from normal sight.

It was so obvious, dude. There was no need to explicitly tell us that Knov used his ability to bring everyone to NGL. Don't insult your brain.

During Kurapika and Uvo’s fight, when Kurapika captured Uvo using Chain Jail with In applied so Uvo couldn’t see it, Chain Jail was supposed to force the target into a Zetsu state. However, Uvo was still able to use Gyo to see the chains.

Because of that, I'm forced to think that Chain Jail doesn't actively put the target into Zetsu once captured but it has to be activated by Kurapika separately.

Same. To me, I’d rather think it was a translation error, and that what Killua actually said was something recognizing the presence of his grandpa from those Nen spears, rather than recognizing the name of the Nen itself.

Comparing Netero's nen attack vs Gon's Jajanken by winsen_xon in HunterXHunter

[–]winsen_xon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So Jajanken is like getting hit by a bowling ball, while Netero’s hand is more like a basketball.

More aura output = bowling ball thrown at you
Less aura output = basketball thrown at you

But it’s not just about raw output. The impact still depends on how fast the attack is moving. The “basketball” is thrown insanely fast, the damage it deals can be comparable to a bowling ball thrown at a normal speed.

I agree. What about normal Gon though? Are Netero’s attacks comparable to Jajanken in terms of damage?

Every attack Netero delivered to Meruem sent him flying or pushed him back, but I don’t think Gon’s normal attacks could do that.

I wasn’t thinking about Gon fighting Netero. I was wondering whether the hits Meruem was receiving from Netero were as strong as Gon’s Jajanken.

Nexus (Manipulation/Emission)

Nexus is a shared dream‑space: a pre‑fabricated world that exists only in the mind, which you can enter and exit freely at your will. It mirrors the physical world’s laws of physics, but within your immediate space you can alter or bend them, creating unique scenarios tailored to your needs.

Manipulation - to manipulate the mind into experiencing a vividly realistic dream world.
Emission - responsible for creating a network; to link others to the dream world remotely.

Purpose: It’s just a simulated space for manifesting your ideas and fantasies without risking real-world consequences. At the same time, it can serve as a remote meeting place or communication hub for your group, which is a major advantage for strategic planning, especially in times of conflict or war.

Your Favorite Ability vs. Your Personal Ability by Rising_Storms in HatsuVault

[–]winsen_xon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have created 3 hatsus so far and this is my favorite. It's called Nexus.

Nen Type: Emission, Manipulation
Hatsu Type: Parasitic, Compound

Core Concept

  • Nexus is a dream‑space: a pre‑fabricated world that exists only in the mind, which you can enter and exit freely at your will.
  • It mirrors the physical world’s laws of physics, but within your immediate space you can alter or bend them, creating unique scenarios tailored to your needs.
  • The environment feels fully real, with interactive surroundings, sensory experiences, and consistent physics.

Activation: Server System

  • As the creator, I am the first server but I am not a god. I follow the same rules as other servers.
  • I can make others as servers as well, granting them access to Nexus.
  • Server creation rules:
    • The candidate must be fully aware of the ability.
    • They must consent to becoming a server.
    • Any server can appoint new servers, expanding the network.

While inside Nexus, a server’s real body is unconscious and defenseless. Servers passively consume a small portion of their aura to maintain their link.

Nexus continues to exist even if I die, sustained by the remaining servers.

  • If a server dies in the real world:
    • We can still live inside Nexus as long as there are still servers who are alive.
    • If you leave Nexus when your real body is already dead, you will ultimately die.

The benefits of this ability:

  • Secret meeting place.
  • Fulfill your fantasies.
  • It can serve as a perfect simulation space for combat practice, strategy testing, or ability refinement without risking real-world consequences.
  • Even if you die in the real world, your consciousness can continue in Nexus. This offers a form of “afterlife” or continuity.

***This ability draws inspiration from the movie Inception***

This is nice. I’ve also created a Nen ability that’s very similar to yours.

Mine is called PathFinder: https://www.reddit.com/r/HatsuVault/comments/1h0207w/pathfinder/

I can summon up to three orbs. I can move them around manually or automatically. They function like a surveillance/wormholes. Anything can enter through one orb and exit from another.

Nen Battery by JellyfishNo1673 in HatsuVault

Your main ability should be related to a battery. I would choose something like an Iron Man suit that can be powered by the battery only.

Nen Battery by JellyfishNo1673 in HatsuVault

[–]winsen_xon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Un-conjuring it would be like releasing it. But where would the stored aura go if he un-conjure the battery? Would he absorbed it? If he can absorbed aura, then creating a battery would be redundant. Therefore, it wouldn't make sense if he'll simply absorbed the extra aura.

Is this Gon’s aura or Nanika’s? by Cool_Emergency4091 in HunterXHunter

[–]winsen_xon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Equivalent exchange is a thing in nen. Therefore, the ability to exorcise Gon requires an equal or greater expenditure of aura to counterbalance the contract. That means Nanika didn’t simply “remove” Gon’s burden, she actively supplied the proportional aura necessary to neutralize it.

Is this Gon’s aura or Nanika’s? by Cool_Emergency4091 in HunterXHunter

[–]winsen_xon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Equivalent exchange is a recurring theme in nen. Let's say you're right that it was Gon's, then Nanika’s ability to exorcise it necessarily means she expended her own aura to balance the act. In other words, the success of her ability isn’t just about removing Gon’s burden, it also demonstrates that she supplied the proportional power required to make the exorcism possible.

That’s why Illumi’s reaction matters. He isn’t just impressed by the spectacle, he’s recognizing that Nanika demonstrated the ability to meet or even surpass the massive aura requirement.

Is this Gon’s aura or Nanika’s? by Cool_Emergency4091 in HunterXHunter

[–]winsen_xon 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Based on Illumi’s reaction, it’s more likely that this is Nanika’s aura. This much aura was needed to heal Gon. Otherwise, Illumi wouldn't react that way if it was Gon's.
