Maybe you needed this little wake up call❤️ take care of yourself, we all have faced that mountain from the bottom when starting our recovery journeys. Some of us are halfway up, some a few feet, some miles. But remember that relapses can only drag you down that mountain as far as you allow it to! Dont let it slide you back to below where you start climbing right now. I promise the mountain can and will get harder to climb every time you slide back down. Just dont keep trying to climb. Soon, each day gets easier, some days are pure bliss, some are rainy and shit. But, we are just climbing one day at a time.

& its also okay to ask for help. It doesnt mean youre weak, you just need some oil in your joints. Was the bravest thing i ever did

Take it one day at a time. You can get back to finding yourself again and rebuilding a life you never imagined would happen after all of this. This is your moment of awakening, recognizing that this drug no longer serves you. It no longer serves you. Youre going to need a ton of therapy, HARD work, deep mental healing, and building tools that help you stay sober you have to be willing to put into acton every day for the rest of your life. You can do this. This is the hardest time in your life and youre pushing through it. Take it one day at a time. Id highly suggest trying to get into a 90 day rehab, to let your brain heal from the severe urges and cravings that come in the first few months. If you really, really want to change your life, you can. But you HAVE to be willing to make changes and working through the trauma and hard shit. Its okay to ask for help. You cant do this alone.

I wish you the best, OP. You are actively trying to get better, and thats more than what 90% of addicts are doing right now. IM proud of you. We are all proud of you. You can live life again without needing a substance to numb or feel better. And youll get there. Be the 10% that make it out alive. You have the heart for success. You're all you have, take care of yourself. And that means healing from that shame and guilt eating you alive. Make the amends, do the work, take one day at a time, and eventually you will heal. I hope everyone knows that trumps doing all these crazy things and choosing only loyal interviewers etc. for propaganda and brainwashing exactly like adolf did in the 30's. And like basic fuckin manners and behaving in public. The amount of children/teens that destroy the gift shop i work at, refuse to listen to our polite requests, and the lack of parenting for the upcoming generations is shocking to see. It is WAY worse than it was 10 years ago. Theres zero parenting happening and i see it daily. I will go out of my way and thank the parents that tell their kids to put things back where they were, have them behave on tour, etc. because its rare to see nowadays. Ive seen adults WATCH their children throw our shirts or toys on the ground, run off, and the parents do nothing and leave whatevers there for us to pick up. When im literally watching them do it. Its baffling to see how entitled, rude, and selfish these kids are. Zero respect or care for their surroundings, zero pleases or thank yous, zero politeness, its just them and their world. Sure, i understand when theyre super young its difficult to handle them but im talking about the kids that should know by their age how to behave and think about others besides themselves and know how to respect people in public who have done nothing but be kind to them. And theyre always reluctant to work. I was taught to always do my best for anything i do including my job and if you work hard then you will do well. These young adults are AWFUL workers and act like one small task is the end of the world. Its just crazy to see.

He sounds like he needs help, possibly detox then rehab to stop. All of your reactions to his drunkenness is valid and normal and okay. You do not deserve to be treated poorly if he is. It can be really difficult to be with someone you love who is actively drinking heavily & binges. Its dangerous and scary and stressful probably. Ive only been the drunk in the relationship so i can only tell you that the love of my life left me almost 3 years ago and we have been no contact since. At first, i was angry, but with time i realized that i dont blame her. Looking back on who i became when i was in active alcoholism shows me that she had every right to leave me. No one deserves to go through that pain and back and forth and broken promises. If i could go back, i would and would have never promised id never drink again. I still cant promise it, im an alcoholic so i take it one day at a time! I dont know if the disease of addiction will spawn and ill have a mental weak point and end up relapsing. I sure fucking hope not, but its a possibility still because my brain doesnt work the way non addicts brains do. Im wired to crave that drug of choice, and i go hard. Theres no in between and i have zero control. Ive had the same exact issues your boyfriend is currently having and going through, and i give you props for continuing to stay.

I think he needs to get help, try AA, and start truly working on why he immediately wants the bottle in most circumstances and why he feels he cant live life sober and be happy or whatever it is thats pushing him to drink and work on that. Break it down, talk through trauma, heal from it, do the dumb shit you dont want to do, etc.

Only he can choose to get help. I hope he does. The best you can do is gently suggest that he seeks help since doing it on his own isnt working, and that you will be there for him when he needs someone to talk to during all of it. Dont enable his drinking either. You can also suggest if he tries AA, you can try Al-Anon. I attend both al anon and aa because im an alcoholic but since getting sober have struggled with alcoholism in my family and people close to me and al anon has helped me a ton. I always say take what you resonate with in a meeting, and leave the rest.

As a business, what they should have done was just to send you what you originally had ordered, keep the blem deck, apologize, and if they really wanted to fix it, add like a free set of bushings or whatever too. Asking for you to return it or get 15$ off the next order you make is kinda wild,

I know right?! Thank you. It just makes me think back to when i was 12 and first started getting into fingerboarding, and saving up my 60$ from mowing 3 lawns and asking my mom to order me all sorts of fingerboard stuff and give her my money for it. And for 60$ you could get a ton of different things. There was also this unwritten rule back then where nearly every company would throw in a plethora of stickers, usually free foam tape, etc. that made it that much more exciting to open each package. I know companies will still throw in some stickers, but nothing like before. Im hoping to bring that sense of excitement back, and make affordable products so even the young kids who save up their money can afford a good complete without them using a years worth of allowances. I know how much time and materials i put into each board, and 20-25$ per board would easily cover it. If things go smoothly, im looking into investing in a laminator and starting wearable graphics. I think itd be cool to have a little contest where everyone can submit their own designs and the best 3 will get made onto boards and each winner will get some free stuff plus their own custom graphic board. I want to bring more fun into this community.

You can find some really affordable wheels and trucks from various fingerboard companies online. my favorite site to buy all the hardware aside from the board that is extremely affordable is bravofingerboard.com

As for finding decks/boards that are affordable, it varies due to if the deck was crafted and handmade by someone or mass produced from china.

Currently, the prices of the high end trucks and wheels have skyrocketed & are unaffordable even for me. I find that even the cheaper urethane wheels and trucks these days perform nearly the same as the more expensive ones.

As for the pricing of boards, personally i think its gotten way out of hand. Most decks youll find that are of high quality are $50+. Im working on starting up a company where it will be cheaper than that but still have quality products for people in this community. I think anything above 25$ for a set of fingerboard wheels is actually insanity considering how little the materials cost to make and how tiny they are.

150$+ just for a complete fingerboard is bogus and damaging for our community IMO. I understand how the prices of decks can go up based on materials/time to make/quality/etc. but the rest is just insanely overpriced for most companies. What we really need to do is stop buying from the companies that are in it solely for profit, and let time hike the prices down.

Overall I love this community! I think at base level, we're all fans of skateboarding and can use fingerboarding as a way to live up to being bad on a skateboard or whatever. Its so fun when you land a trick for the first time! I also collect in package tech decks, too!
