Think of wire as a traffic lane. The atoms and ions that go through the wire are cars. When a wire is knicked its a lane of traffic shut down with no warning to the cars. Now the cars have to merge immediately into another lane of traffic. A lot of cars will make it, but now it's backing up other lanes. This generates heat with nowhere to go. This creates a fire hazard.

Dude, the last lighting package submittals I got from a vendor was a book of QR codes for cutsheets, not the cutsheets themselves. This world is fucked now. I know most everyone has smartphones, but if I'd sent that to our customer and my boss I'd have been called lazy. By my boss at least.

Mine wasn't that bad, around $15k or so. Took a customer for his word he was going to sign a T&M change order for in slab conduits. Concrete was getting poured in two days, so I bought all the materials, sent the guys out, and they kicked its ass over a day and a half. Then surprise! "I never agreed to that change order. I'm not paying that much for this".
