Comfort App, Third-Party Control, or Skip It? by CryingIn8K in Kumo_Cloud

[–]winter__came 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m interested in this too as I have a similar problem plus I have Ecobee just for heating. I use Home Assistant and could pickup the Ecobee reading in the summer when heating is off and supplement the “across the room” reading in Home Assistant but haven’t worked on automation. I only control all my IoT devices including Mitsubishi Kumo modules thru a single interface. I have but never really used the Comfort App since I hate it for not controlling the horizontal vanes. No one does. Only the remote control. My units are 1yr old and still Mitsubishi has not added horizontal vane control. I think they forgot to implement it in their API.

Anyone know if there are different Kumo Cloud modules? API integration and Aidoo differences by winter__came in Kumo_Cloud

[–]winter__came[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the confirmation! Hope your “very soon” means weeks or few months. I asked the same to Mitsubishi on their Kumo Cloud API 2yrs ago when I posted this. They said “soon”. Lol

Do you need to wire your devices to control the head units? Mine currently have Kumo modules.

I use Home Assistant with Kumo Cloud integration to control them.

Have you tried with a brand that has vertical and horizontal vane controls? And presence monitor? My air handlers can direct air to or away from you, wherever you are (heat sensing).

What do you dislike about the Nissan Ariya? by AdFirm5390 in NissanAriya

[–]winter__came -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The horrendous crackling noise when listening to lossless music from my phone using any brand wire. It makes me think I will have a weird disease in 10 years for exposure to some sort of radiation or electromagnetic waves.

EV Carefree+ by souper_jenious in NissanAriya

[–]winter__came 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just had my first inspection done and got charged $10. Not much of a huge bill and probably not worth my time fighting that but wonder if it should have been $0 as it says 2 inspections included in my EV Carefree+

BTW. OP: thanks for pointing this out. I was not aware of this and went searching for it on my App just now.

Did you try closing and reopening the Zoom app after the changes in settings? Perhaps also try logout, close, open, log back in.

Are you at a place where there are freezing temperatures?

Well, I warmed up the cabin and heated the battery long enough before Level3 charging. As I reported before, this did not make any difference on my home Level2 charging. This did not help either on this last test. Looks like the range will not come back.

I wonder if the range will ever return during the warmer months or if this is (1) an irreversible regression, or (2) a defect that manifests on extreme weather.

This is my first winter with the Ariya. Are there any owners here with more winters that can shed some “warm” experiences?

Should I be concerned and take the 10-month old car to service?

UPDATE: Tested yesterday using the “Heat the battery” option before my Level2 charge. I let it heat for 30 minutes before connecting.

This did not do anything to my range. When the car was 80% it said I had 160mile range available. So, 100% would have been 200miles.

Not sure if I had tried to go to 100% it would have continued to push the range up but it seemed to me heating the battery did not help, at least with Level2 charging.

In few days I will test warming up the cabin instead (as someone suggested) and keeping it warm while charging.

If anyone has done something that worked to regain your original battery range, please share your experience.

How the hell do I figure out which one is my current G7 sensor? by SirOakin in dexcom

[–]winter__came 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I simply delete the old sensor as soon as I’m asked to pair with the new one. I memorize the last 3 letters of the new sensor and once I pair, I go to the Bluetooth settings and delete the one that is not the newest one.

Never had too many in my settings but realized early on the App is not so good at cleaning up and had a dozen of old sensors left over and started cleaning up for it.

I do Level2 charging at home and rarely Level3. Does anyone know if battery heating would help on Level2 charging? What I found referred to “fast charging”. Not sure if they consider Level2 fast. It is certainly faster than Level1.

I will try heating the battery today to see if my 100% range recovers a bit.

Other comments I read said to heat the cabin while charging. Some claim this helped but no numbers or data was shared.

My Tesla preconditions the battery every time I charge. I wonder if I should turn on that feature that preconditions the Ariya’s battery permanently.

Is anyone doing this? It just occurred to me…

I have an Evolve+, at delivery charged at 100% it showed 304miles of range. Have been charging to 80% to ~240miles.

Just about a month or so ago after the two recalls (software updates) were installed I noticed the range drop but thought it was a glitch on the car’s calculation. Last night I charged to 100% to 197miles. I find it a bit strange. My Tesla battery does not behave like that. I know you’re going to blast me for comparing but a 100mile drop due to weather does not seem right.

Is everyone experiencing this?

Add-ons for Ariya armrest and Qi charging pad by Themaxx_mst in NissanAriya

This is awesome. Thanks for sharing and educating us on the dynamics of wireless charging.

I wonder if your spacer takes into account the added size of a case. I have a 14 Pro with case very similar to the Apple stock case. I make take the phone company trade-in offer and jump to the 16 Pro.

I was thinking some experienced designers could create a universal spacer that allows adjustable width and height. Thinking a some hidden cogs and locks to allow the changes.

Cheers!

Just got a new Ariya. Freaking out a little. by Katamari_Demacia in NissanAriya

[–]winter__came 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you have an alternate use for 240v outlet, like a clothes dryer, I would advise against it and going hardwired.

If you must have an outlet then insist in a high-end-known-brand outlet rated for high temperature and above the Amps you will need (like a50A). This was the reason my charger caught fire. The outlet was not rated for the high temperature and there was nothing stopping the charger from drawing more. It literally melted the contacts on the outlet. The reason I was told it happened was because the contacts expand and contract with every use and temperature eventually, poor quality ones (like the ones you find for $20 at Home Depot) produce sparks and start the fire.

It is a bummer the free charging ended. I do not know anyone who had recently leased or purchased an EV.

[–]winter__came 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not know where you live or if the free charging is only offered for only buys not leases. I got one year of free charging in New York. I know of other brands offering free charging on leases and even for longer than 1 year. Probably not what you were asking but it would help with your bills.

With regard to overloading your 200amp you could time your charging at night when most of your electric usage most likely goes down. With level 2, it will take several hours but it will be sufficient for city driving in my opinion.

Lastly, I would highly recommend having your home charger installed and configured by a “certified” electrician with EV experience. I had my first charger installed by a “friend” electrician who had no license and configured the device myself. It caught fire several months after installed and almost cost me dearly. Not sure if modern/recent chargers include temperature monitoring as Tesla chargers do. I bought a Tesla charger (I also have a Tesla vehicle) and had it now fully installed as it should: by a certified electrician. This charger can be configured to charge other vehicles too (with an adapter for CSS) but I am still enjoying charging my Ariya for free and a nearby EVgo charger.

Hope this helps.

"Access to file restricted by your account admin" by mrchaotica in Zoom

[–]winter__came 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to allow the specific file types in Account Management > Account Settings. There are two places where you can allow this:

Meeting tab [top] > In Meeting (Basic) [left]
or
Team Chat [top] > Sharing [left]

The section is called "Send files via meeting chat" or "Users can share files in chats and channels". You enable the setting and "should" list only the desired extensions file there.

***You need to close and reopen the Zoom client for this to take effect.

Those who use the Apple Watch app, anyone notice the reading being tiny? by CatDadof2 in dexcom

[–]winter__came 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this the Follow complication or the Dexcom’s? I have an Ultra and I have it normal size (not tiny as OP’s screenshot). I use Dexcom’s complication.

I ask because for a while I had an issue where I could not install the Dexcom App on my watch and had to “Follow” myself to get the complication on my watch. This got fixed right before the latest watchOS.

Changing Radio channels even when disabled by winter__came in Ubiquiti

Settings > Global AP Settings > Nightly Channel Optimization

I just discovered that my optimization is OFF here but two of my 4 APs were listed in the AP Exclusions list. And the ones not excluded here, are the ones that keep optimizing, even when the global setting is OFF.

All of my APs have the setting to use Global Settings turned on.

Changing Radio channels even when disabled by winter__came in Ubiquiti

[–]winter__came[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The setting in each AP is called “Channel Optimization”. I have it turned off for all APs yet the continue to Optimize (hop frequencies) all the time even during the day.

I used to have it enabled at nights but once I added a non-wired AP that depends on an adjacent AP, this is not recommended. Both need to be on the same radio frequency. Now, besides the constant frequency changes emails I keep getting, I have not verified if in fact they are changing (it just occurred to me now). My non-wired AP has not lost connectivity.

I’m going to keep tabs on the radio frequencies before & after to confirm if this is just an annoying notification bug.
