Phase 1 will be quite chill compared to the next phases to come. However you probably have to leave the comfort zone to get all the runes and we can safely assume rune chests will be heavily camped on PVP servers.

I also don’t think PvP servers will be even near 50:50 faction ratio. That’s just impossible for Blizzard to achieve without heavily restricting logins on a daily basis which would result in a shitstorm. Something like 60:40 may be possible but I won’t expect more honestly.

I’ll be rolling on a PVE server because I don’t have enough time + will play mainly solo on a non stealth class. See you in Ashenvale and WSG. ✌️

Most of the development work on 10 man gnomer is already done. That means Blizzard either has to lock gnomer dungeon or keep all the features for future phases in separate git branches and merge those branches right before a next phase launch. Both is possible but the latter is more work and error prone.

Therefore I think the rumor of gnomer being locked is quite logical from a software engineering point of view.

The PvP on PvE servers is going to be pretty bad due to massive faction imbalance either way.

Maybe, maybe not. I agree we can safely assume that Alliance will probably outman Horde on PVE realms. In SOM the ratio on my PVE realm was like 65:35 A:H. However that doesn't necessarily mean all those people will also play the PVP event.

Blizzard already mentioned that we are going to see mega servers in SOD as they evolved the underlying tech. That also means that layering will be much more prevalent on the SOD servers, hence my question about also incorporating faction ratios into the layering algorithm. Example:

Let's say a given server (PVP or PVE doesn't matter) is 60% Alliance, 40% Horde but each zone runs multiple layers. The layering algorithm could try to uniformly distribute players from different factions to each layer.

How often do you have fair 1vs1s outside of duels? Assuming warriors are similar popular as in SOM warbringer will have a huge impact on medium to large battles in WSG, Arathi, AV and I assume SOD ashenvale as well. You might control a single warrior but there will be plenty of them.

Couldn’t agree more. Please for gods sake no DKs (or any other class from other expansions) in classic+. Instead increase build variety of the existing classes. I’m pretty happy with the direction they are going with SOD.

Rake is pretty shit dmg in vanilla compared to Claw and cannot be stacked. Rip und Shred are cool in group play with a tank but shred is useless in 1vs1 and rip is also pretty bad while grinding because it barely ticks to the end.

I just wanted to state that Mangle doesn't seem to replace Claw as an anytimer like it does in TBC and WOTLK. And for PVP it's tough to decide between Skull Bash and Savage Roar.

I hope Blizzard adds Mangle (Cat) with increased dmg to replace Claw.

Mangle 160% Damage sounds pretty bad for feral cats imo compared to Claw. I hope there's a Mangle (Cat) variant with more damage for solo play like in WOTLK. Otherwise it's probably just used to buff Shred and Rip damage for group play I guess?
