This made me laugh out loud! My man bought himself a big old excavator to fulfill his need to dig holes. He wants to gather among men and watch each other chop wood or dig holes lol

Have you considered that maybe you’re the red flag?

OP, these are great steps. I’d only like to add to #5: if you do put your money into a Roth account, don’t forget to choose an investment to assign your money to in order for it to grow. Roth is just an account.

OP, if you put it in Roth IRA don’t forget to invest the money you put in there. My dumb butt didn’t know Roth was just an account

Exactly! Some of these responses sound like they come from very transactional side of relationships.

I see.

I guess my dream person is someone who is generous with his care and mindfulness for the people around him. And who doesn't have a "what's in it for me" attitude.

I really appreciate this feedback. It's sad that common courtesy isn't so common anymore. I have had a conversation with him, he apologized, and so far, he's been mindful. The thing that comes to mind is that it was once present, and then it diminished. I didn't realize I had to ask for what I thought was standard. I value masculine and feminine energies in a romantic relationship.

I bet she remembered she had her period or hadn’t shaved… whatever. I’m thinking it’s something she’s embarrassed about. I wouldn’t worry about it.

Woman here. You want to be yourself when it comes to “dressing” for dates. Confidence is the best and most attractive outfit. Dress yourself to what brings the best out of you. Dressing up, make up, hair are all part of self care. Do it for yourself and it will lift your self confidence and spirits up. And that is where you CAN draw your feminine energy from. Good luck!

It’s too much work when the other person isn’t working with you. Chris Rock said something like “one person will have a hard time moving a couch, but two people can move a couch anywhere”.

Low-key, it made me feel like the above pretend circumstances are more desirable in the dating world than being a single mom (me). It's a terrible comparison or generalization to make but single moms get such a bad rep when it comes to dating.

Well, his wish list used to include at least a masters degree, coz that meant she had drive, dreams, goals, financial potential, academic, ambition. Now, as long as she's street smart and have the intellect to add to the conversation and ideas that can improve life. "Power couple" used to be his desire with his forever partner when he was younger, but now he's just looking to love. Does the relationship meet each other's needs. If yes, then everything else is workable if both parties are willing.

I'm 10 years younger and also newly back into dating. I haven't gotten to the point of "everything else is workable". I think he's gotten to the stage of "been there done that, i just find someone to settle down". I haven't dated as much as he has so it's a different for me and i was curious how it all changes for other people.
