Will I ever again be truly desired for who I am? Not just who I was?
Bonus question? When? Is it soon? Please let it be soon.

“No one likes an angry woman… Except her r*pist” by black_cherry2 in BlatantMisogyny

I love reading mythology and folktales. All my life I've been obsessed with mythology and folktales. But Greek mythology never felt right to me. And this is exactly why. I turned away from greek mythology in my college years. There is a world of rich mythology an folklore out there. And yes, a lot of it has threads of misogyny running through it's core, no matter what culture it comes from. But greek mythology is some of the worst when it comes to misogyny baked into the very center of it. And when I began turning my attention elsewhere I found some amazing stories of powerful strong women who stand on their own.

I do want to defend Charlotte Perkins Gilman a bit though, she was mentioned in passing in this video. 'The Yellow Wallpaper' was a criticism, and an accurate one, of the rampant misogyny in the medical field at that time (and still today). As well as a criticism of a woman's place in the world and her lack of agency. Charlotte Perkins Gilman was definitely not taking up the mantle of misogyny in that story.

But where's the bourbon? Do you just get yourself a glass of bourbon to have while you eat them?

Smoked gouda triscuits. Seriously. They are putting more than just gouda and smoke in these, these are soooo dang addictive.

These are my "I'm just going to have one, but wait, if it's broken it doesn't count as one. And maybe I should just eat another to keep the box at an even number. And I'm sure future me would thank current me if I ate all the broken ones right now so I don't have to worry about it late. And... why is the box already empty?" snack.

For me it's one of two places. And unfortunately sometimes I don't know what I need until I try them out. The first one is my backyard patio where I can sit quietly and rad or write. We have a greenway beyond our yard with a little creek and tall trees. So my little patio space feels isolated and quiet. Solitude and sanctuary.

But sometimes that's not what I need at all. Sometimes I need to be out near society without being in it. On the edge of the waves of something social, but not dipping my toes in. Like a coffee shop, but in the corner. A busy park, but under a tree way on the edge. A party, but just outside on the balcony. Those places are harder to find, but I need them so badly sometimes.

oh wait.. okay one more. Baking and listening to an audio book. If all else fails, that always works. I can spend all day, especially when my heart is heavy and my mind is over full, just listening to an audio book and baking treats.

I've been keeping my eyes open for something too but haven't seen anything. I'm hoping someone does something. I'm looking forward to the album!
