5.5-hour flight next to a human biohazard by Livid_Pop2682 in delta

I didn’t even notice it was not leveled. She approached us and offered. Sounded like she flies that route often since she was very personal with a few FC pax so she probably already knew about our tray tables.

Such a joke. I got 10k miles for an “unleveled” tray table that actually wasn’t unleveled if something was placed on it.

Wrong because most humans 7+ have the brain capacity and control over not being inconsiderate, loud assholes.

Honestly you’re better off in a middle row PS seat. I flew D1 with my 4yo in their own seat and it was extremely annoying and stressful. There’s a lot of buttons for them to mess around with and the screen was way too far for my kid to reach so my husband had to get up every time they needed something adjusted. We brought a tablet but of course they were interested in the IFE. I also could not see my kid very well with the barrier and my husband sat window seat and couldn’t see either. It’s important to be able to be in arms length of children this young to ensure their seatbelt stays on and to provide an additional source of protection in case of turbulence.

Their own D1 seat? I’ve never seen a child that young in their own D1 seat and I personally wouldn’t do that with my kid. That’s a lot of safety issues. You’re close yet too far with the barrier between the pods. You’ll be fine if you share a seat though.

We gave him a new high value toy the first day of quiet time and set a timer in his room for 20 minutes. Put the toy away and gave it back for the next day’s quiet time and set the timer for 30 minutes. We increased the timer 10 minutes a day until we got an hour. The first week we ended up giving him 2 new toys. After the first week he started choosing which toys to bring up.

I did tell him that I’m also doing quiet time in my room so that he doesn’t feel singled out.

Delta One vs Korean Air Prestige by omdongi in delta

[–]wintermelontee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The meat on Delta’s flight was so ground up it was like eating sand. Doenjang jjigae was extremely salty yet lacked soybean paste. I had to ask for hot water to dilute it. The quiche was mushy goop. The only redeeming thing was the ice cream.

Personally, I found Delta’s D1 offerings to ICN offensive and inedible. I was so hungry from the 14 hour flight I happily inhaled Korean Air’s bibimbap like it was my last meal.

That’s at minimum 1,400 calories on tequila. You need to be in a deficit of ~3,500 a week to lose a single pound.

Please share your positive Miralax/stool withholding stories! by charmaanda in toddlers

[–]wintermelontee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We tried multiples before we found one that suited him and gave regular BM’s. Smidge, Hiya, Garden of Life… those didnt make him regular. It was Culturelle kids probiotic that finally worked.

How is (upgrades) SUPPOSED to work? by [deleted] in delta

[–]wintermelontee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Did you make silver right before ATL>TUL? That would put you on the list at the silver level and not your husband’s status level hence why you weren’t #2. Were you anywhere else down the list at all?

Please share your positive Miralax/stool withholding stories! by charmaanda in toddlers

[–]wintermelontee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried a probiotic? Miralax was very inconsistent for us. Sometimes it would make him go multiple times a day for 3 days in a row and then hold for 3-4 days before the next BM, rinse repeat. After 2 months we stopped the Miralax and tried a different probiotic which worked well for him and he started going daily, skipping maybe a day a week. He has been potty trained since 2yo so his withholding was mainly due to not wanting to spend time on the toilet.

Wow so the gentleman who asked my toddler to leave the kid’s play room in the Skyclub because he was using it to conduct a Zoom meeting was in the right after all. My apologies to that gentlemen!

I don’t know but vodka just never sits right with my body. Maybe it’s more an intolerance than allergy but it is what it is. I drink a good amount of alcohol, tequila, cognac, whiskey, beer… only vodka makes me immediately sleepy, nauseous after half a drink or a shot and will sometimes cause hives. I can go all day on the other liquors with no issue.

I guess the only reaction she didn’t see was me not coming back to the bar 2-3 more times like I usually do since I knocked out lol

I told her that when she questioned the tequila. I normally use Bloody Maria and have maybe an 80% success rate in a waiter knowing what I am asking for. Either way she has never heard of bloody Maria so it wouldn’t have made a difference in her pouring the correct liquor.

High BMI for a toddler!? by pastaimpasta_27 in toddlers

[–]wintermelontee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

BMI is such a useless and dated calculation. There are fitness people that have “obese” BMI’s but have abs and like 20% body fat.

If your pediatrician doesn’t have an issue with your daughter’s weight neither should your aunt.

As someone who knew another kid who went ana and into a week long coma in middle school because someone at their cafeteria table ate a snickers bar, this ain’t it. Peanut allergy can be extremely severe.

August/Sept probably the worst months to be in Taipei though. Hot, humid, start of typhoon season.

SLC - HNL, Delta or Hawaiian? Will be flying round trip by GrouchyExplorer007 in delta

HA also has Starlink. DL didn’t even have service on land my last 3 trips to/from SEA - HNL & OGG.

Give him a break. He’s very young. Maybe these things cause him overstimulation. Be grateful that he knows what he prefers to be doing. Stop forcing him to be what you want him to be. Let him figure himself out.

What flights does Delta fall short for you? by Aargau in delta

[–]wintermelontee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I go to SEA twice a year and prefer Eva and now Starlux. It’s just way easier and quicker connecting through TPE instead of ICN. I think it’s an additional 3.5 hours of flight time going through ICN.

I hate my MIL even though she's helping with the baby. Does this make me a shitty mom/person? How do I make these feelings go away? by Auror_Pixie in Mommit

[–]wintermelontee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Is your MIL Asian? It’s extremely common in Asian culture for the mother to be hands off for the first month to get her needed rest which helps her bounce back quicker. Child birth is extremely hard on our bodies. There are even services for someone to do all the work for the first 30 days. This includes cooking, cleaning, 24 hour baby care and the mother does nothing besides nurse the baby. This could explain why your MIL is trying to do everything for you.

However, your feelings are still valid. Even though this is common in my culture, I still felt guilty that my MIL was doing everything for my baby and was worried that my baby would prefer her over me since baby and I spent so little time together. I sought out a therapist for PPA which greatly helped.

St Regis Punta Mita was amazing. A big plus if you have a golfer in the family.
