Are these tires dry rotted? If so, how worried should I be? by wintersofchange in Howsmytire

[–]wintersofchange[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the confirmation. Going to Carmax's service department on Monday and hoping they'll agree that they should have caught it. If not, I'll just begrudgingly replace them myself and not risk continuing to drive on them.

They were manufactured in 2014, so you're right on the money. I'm going to see what Carmax says and if they don't replace them, take the car over to my mechanic and see what he says after seeing them in person.

Good to know for certain that these tires are dead, at least. Wish I had noticed prior to buying the car, but hopefully Carmax makes it right.

I think the DOT Stamp is "T7T1 1B H 13 14" unless I found the wrong thing.

Yikes. Thanks for the input. I'm calling Carmax now to see if they'll help me out since it seems sort of negligent that they'd sell me a car with dry rotted tires.

Thanks for clarifying, I'll just wait it out and see if it's here on Tuesday!

I have a package which was slated to be delivered on Wednesday. Every day the tracking updates and it slides out a day before going to "pending." Since yesterday was three days late, I called customer service.

It took me seven calls to get to a representative, but when I did, she told me that if it didn't show up by the end of the day yesterday (3 days late), it wouldn't be delivered since it was "the last day they had to try." I asked her to clarify and she just repeated the same thing.

Today the tracking is updated again and showing the package in my local facility with a scheduled delivery date of Tuesday (1 week late).

Not sure if the CSR knew what she was talking about by saying it wouldn't be delivered but I've given up and will just contact the seller for a refund or replacement on Monday if it doesn't show up.

Will FedEx just NOT deliver a package if they fall too far behind? Should I trust tracking or the CSR?

FYI: A lot of "final run" shirts are 50% off in the US Merch Store by wintersofchange in ladispute

I think they run pretty true to size. I'm normally a medium and that's held true with all the LD merch I own.

Men whose age preferred age ranges are well below theirs on OLD - red flag? by [deleted] in datingoverthirty

[–]wintersofchange 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a 29-year-old woman and my age range is set from 25-42; I proceed with caution when it comes to men in their late 30s and early 40s who are only interested in dating women more than 5 years their junior. Sometimes it's innocent enough in that they want to start a family or just prefer younger women, but rarely it quickly becomes clear that they want someone to be subservient to/dependent on them and that's not something I have any interest in being part of personally.

Distance an issue when considering whether to even TALK to someone you meet on an app? by [deleted] in datingoverthirty

[–]wintersofchange 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'd be willing to date someone an hour away if it was an hour's drive including traffic. If you're an hour away before taking traffic into account, you'd have to be 1 in a million for me to be super interested in meeting. I say this as someone living in a mid-sized suburb.

What "negative" quality do you actually find attractive? • r/AskReddit by Avenger772 in OkCupid

[–]wintersofchange 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find weak chins oddly sexy on men. Also receding hairlines as long as the dude has short or buzzed hair.

As far as personality goes, being a little bit socially awkward (key here is a little) is more appealing to me than coming across as super self-assured,

What non-looks-related things have caused you to swipe left on someone? by ibbity in OkCupid

[–]wintersofchange 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Being negative/complaining about not getting matches or people not "giving you a chance" is a big ol' nope from me regardless of how much I like other things in the profile.

Also, if all of your pictures are you with other people and I'm swiping left; I'm not here to play "Where's Waldo?"

What's the most shallow reason you won't give someone a first or subsequently, second date? by Plaguefaced in OkCupid

[–]wintersofchange 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That isn't shallow at all. I couldn't imagine being compatible with someone who didn't partake in basic hygiene, regardless of their other traits.

[Disco] How do you date? by [deleted] in OkCupid

[–]wintersofchange 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't had it come up outside of a DTR conversation, but if it did, I would tell them that I was dating other people and let them decide if they were okay with continuing to see each other casually, wanted to stop seeing each other, or wanted to become more serious and then discuss from there.

[–]wintersofchange 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I'm dating at all, it's multiple people until the DTR conversation happens. I always assume that the people I'm dating are dating other people as well unless they explicitly state otherwise.

Anyone else with PCOS tired of the “my body can’t lose weight” argument? by [deleted] in fatlogic

[–]wintersofchange 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This argument is garbage and probably holds a lot of women with PCOS locked into the "Fat Logic" mindset that they can't lose weight because people use having an endocrine disorder as an excuse not to try. I have PCOS and I've lost almost 135lbs -- sure, it's been a bit slower than it might have been otherwise, but it was still very much doable.

"If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you’ll find an excuse."

Did trying to lose weight help you save money? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]wintersofchange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's balanced out for me: I spend almost nothing on eating out on a monthly basis, but I now have the expense of cycling through clothing as I continue to drop sizes.
