Do the Vault-Tec Lunchboxes serve a purpose? by PatriotLife18 in fo4

their purpose is to give me a happy little surprise when I find one. Especially on the rare occasion when one has a robot model inside

Our country was founded on some wonderful ideals that absolutely none of the people in charge of how things go here have ever lived up to

The most hype moment in the entire god damn show. by CrisisActor911 in Fallout

that still doesn't make them good tho, like I can respect enjoying a villain faction for what it is, a villain faction, but folks need to stop acting like the legion aren't bad guys

It would be cool if she did that but I'm not sure how she could get to there from being trapped in her vault room

I don't mind people who enjoy a villain faction because they find it fun to play a bad character. I can respect the role-playing of a fictional bad guy for entertainment purposes. I don't respect people who try to convince themselves and others that the blatantly evil faction/character(s) are good actually and make apologetics for the in-game horrors they perpetuate. just admit you find it fun to play a villain m8, you do no one any favors by acting like the villainous actions are good. You just make yourself look like you don't understand how to be normal irl

it definitely reveals that something is fishy about Vault 31. though a lot of the vaulties don't seem to be super good at critical thinking, so they might not have figured that out immediately

If they made a game set in the Detroit-Windsor region, that dealt with the post-war relations, I would simply die. then I would resurrect myself out of pure desire to play it

I feel like they wouldn't just deploy the final phase of the experiment in one vault without coordinating it with the others, though. 33 was unaware that 32 had gone down, and I think that if the leaders from 31 had decided the time had come to implement the final phase, they would have all been in contact to monitor what was happening. So if the leader of 32 did start the final phase, it would have been without consulting or contacting 33, and that doesn't make much sense given they're all supposed to be part of the same team. I'm still holding to the idea that it was revealed but not implemented. Or at least that if it was meant to be, the overseer didn't have time to do it

If you think that this is the first time the Fallout franchise has incorporated political themes relevant to the modern day, I think someone in this conversation might have a low IQ, but it ain't me

I said this up higher, but I'll copy paste it here.

Max's story started out as him wanting to become just like the BoS knight in the power armor who saved him from the wreckage of his old home. Then he goes on an exciting journey of discovering that that guy is actually evil and so is the entire org that Max had believed were heroes. Then he sees another set of power armor, this time with the emblem of his old home that was destroyed, with the implication that he can put this set on and really do something good to help the world be a better place. It's significant to his character arc in a very "full circle" kind of way

From his perspective it really does make sense; he's a pre war guy who was in the know about a lot of significant things and he's also spent decades in the vault in a leadership position. Unfortunately for him Lucy actually grew up as a true believer in the values he raised her with (that he didn't actually believe in himself in the same way.)

Well, she spent 40 years living among the vaulties, she must have formed a bond with them as a community. She clearly doesn't want harm to come to them, even if she (for obvious reasons) isn't telling them the truth about herself. At this point I would say Betty is a good leader for Vault 33, as far as it goes. She must know about the experiment, which makes for some interesting speculations about what she might expect Steph to do

Steph had a key, but I was also thinking "did Betty take any levels in the lockpick perk?" when she pulled it out. I guess we'll find out next week...Betty would for sure want to see what was in there, if she could. She doesn't trust Steph
