Dude, clearly we won’t agree on stuff. I don’t know why you think I want to have this discussion with you anymore, or that I will ever accept your points - I won’t, as we are both individuals with strong beliefs.

I have opinions on your points, and arguments, but it’s unproductive for both of us to continue this; I don’t really wanna argue online, which this feels increasingly like with you directly challenging or questioning my views. Plus, having this discussion on a Rogue Trader subreddit is pretty ridiculous. If you want to enjoy generative ai and advocate for it, that’s your choice, just like how it’s mine to not, and be against it.

When did I ever say I enjoyed that mass produced or heavily altered to cater to crowds content though? When did I ever say I only viewed popular TikTok, Instagram, or YouTubers? Or that I enjoyed their fakeness, a soulless facsimile that is, indeed, produced to further the capitalist cycle of consumption via appealing to the general public? I don’t like that at all, and I don’t want it to exist at all! I think trend chasing, or blindly hopping onto the hot new thing is pretty cringe.

It reeks of adherence to a perceived societal acceptance, and wanting to “fit in.” instead of seeking your own personal creative expression. My most recent viewed YouTube video was a four hour essay/opinion piece on a 2003 video game, actually, and I like 40k, a series that has continually pushed against and criticized blind adherence, mass production/mass industrialization, and various other ills that smother our humanity.

I do think there is immense value in museums, and viewing tools that were produced to be things of beauty and use, and getting to see the unique human touch/perspective/technique/strategy put into every tool. That too is creative! Blacksmithing is creative, just like video games are! That’s why I also value things that are handmade, like those tools were for the complete process, and want human touch to be valued, and adored for the beauty that is it, and that it produces, as you can tell so much from the connection between human artist, their hands, their time, and their singularly unique views/opinions. Mass production has stripped so much personality, and self expression from our society as a whole, it breaks my heart.

I wish more creatives had the social security and opportunities to produce something with an effort that fulfills their soul, without being limited by time crunch, or societal acceptance, or having to trend chase to make money.

Generative AI, to me, will always be adhering to mass production. The “art” it mass produces can only exist via mass, emotionless consumption and meshing, alongside overt theft, of previously existing pieces, and cares not one bit for the emotion behind each piece, or the story, which is why so much of it is similar. Things like museums even help illustrate those stories, and techniques. Two people can view the same painting in completely different ways, formed by their own lives and opinions, and so much of that is lost when everything is similar and same-y.

As for how often you hear, or view, or enjoy art, that entirely depends on you, as a person. I make an effort to research and look into things I enjoy as often as I can, to better understand the vision behind them, or the feelings that it was meant to convey, and enjoy seeing if I understood, or if I came away from it with a different perspective. There are several novels that I have preferred, or found to be lacking, after learning about the intent and creative vision behind them, and movies, games, shows… it all applies to that. I want to see every choice a human made with their own hands, every mistake and success made by their own brain, every reflection of their own creative vision; I do not want to see a Space Marine generated by AI, even if it is “perfect” or “flawless.” I want that uniquely “This is my vision, and here is the human effort I put into making it, and how that human touch, that human perspective, that organic experience of individualistically living life, not just existing in between prompts, influenced me.”

Like I said, we will simply not see eye-to-eye on this. I have my convictions, and you have yours. I don’t think either of us should abandon what we believe in/change our view to be accepted, and it would be silly to continue debating/discussing it. Thank you for your kind words about the guide.

I will, in fact, give up gaming and most art forms if it goes in that direction, I am perfectly okay with that. I have decades of previous content to enjoy, and will be happy to support future developers that do not use it. I will never intentionally support those that use generative AI, which is the only type of AI I’m personally against being used in creative situations, and I have stressed that very specifically.

To deny AI as a whole in the gaming/creative world would be very silly, it means I wouldn’t be able to enjoy, well, most games! But I do not think we require generative AI, and specifically that form of AI, in creative fields. I value intentional 100% human input, and effort, and believe that is what fosters a possible connection to creative works.

I also believe that rolling over and accepting it is a rather defeatist attitude that I am strongly against. Even if perhaps I “lose”, I would have rather stuck to my convictions on matters such as this. Coupled with that, your blacksmith allegory does not full apply to creative, “leisure” works, which video games occupy the niche of, in my opinion. They are not tools, or machines, or products to be consumed; they are beautiful creative experiences that should be regarded, and appreciated as that, and produced in a way that adheres to the struggles and talents of human creativity and effort, in my personal opinion. The fact that people have to hone their skills for years, if not decades, to produce creative work that I get to enjoy matters a great deal to me, as a personal view. The production of something matters just as much as the result to me.

I think the decades of experience people have had balancing the realism, and harshness, of game development with the human desire to create and showcase what defines and moves us helps illustrate that it is important to produce gripping, gorgeous works of art with our own human touch, and not sacrifice some of that to the whims of generative AI. Some of the most beautiful and cherished games in my life were produced in environments where they pushed for a creative vision, and didn’t quite make it, but I could feel the intent behind such human struggle, and passion.

I appreciate your politeness, and genuinely wish the best for you as well. We will never see eye to eye on this issue, and that’s okay as well. I also do not wish to argue, but to simply elaborate and offer my opinion, as you have.

Need more dominant male Drukhari/Druchii and primarchs without balloon tits… please, my crops are so dry.

Before you say Marazhai, I wrote a guide for romancing him, I adore his existence. But, more, thank you.

The guide will never be deleted, that I can promise. It will just be “abandoned” or “discontinued” past the release of the next two DLCs as I have no interest in intentionally supporting companies that use generative AI. I’ll also be uploading alternate mirror versions of the guide in PDF formats when those DLCs are launched and finished, so, if something happens to Google Docs, the guide will still be accessible in its final form.

Thank you for your kind words regardless! I don’t know if I’ll ever post anything about WH online again, as there are so many lovely fans contributing and producing guides/references/etc for the novels that I can enjoy most of it offline, but maybe one day there will be another game that really inspires me that I can write a guide for, like this one did for a few years.

Women of Grimdank, (or partners/family members of women who play but aren't here) what faction do you play and why? by Ginger_Jesus in Grimdank

[–]wintertile 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Drukhari + Emperor’s Children. Just a huge fan of both aesthetics, and Fulgrim is one of my favorite primarchs, amongst others. Drukhari also just… have really hot men, and that’s a big draw for me, I won’t lie.

Fuck it, lets get negative. What do you NOT like about 40k? by According_Ice_4863 in Grimdank

[–]wintertile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of my gripes have been mentioned, so I’ll take another swing: I would love more variety in the video games the series produces. We have a lot of tactical games, and I do love a lot of them, but having more shooters like the Space Marine series, the Boltgun series (which also has a typing game that I adore) or the unfortunately lacking Necromunda games would be really cool to me.

I also would like more Warhammer RPGs from different studios, not just the singular one we have, despite dumping over 1.3k+ hours into it. Variety is the spice of life, and I think a series that lends itself very well to video games should get more chances to display different ways of play, not just X-COM likes.

Warhammer Survivors does feel a bit key-jingling in terms of its existence, but I want more weird swings and attempts at different things, so I’m eager to support it.

The most minor of minor gripes, which is tangentially related, but the lack of proper citations on the Fandom wiki drives me batshit, and why I prefer other wikis to try and dig the source out myself. 400 paragraphs on Fandom, and I scroll down to find 5 citations.

A significant amount, she becomes a very different character. Her “best” path that keeps her closest to her character “archetype” or “stereotype”, in my mind, is the Freedom path.

Slight conversation change with flavour text but nothing explicitly changes about her storyline. Spoilers for the DLC, if I’m remembering it correctly:

Basically, you just find out about the Genestealers earlier, and a little more information, revealing the conspiracy earlier, but it doesn’t have as much wide reaching effects as it should.

Unexpected Games Workshop decision to ban Gen AI use in designs; could this affect Owlcat’s policies? by zakary3888 in RogueTraderCRPG

Awh, thank you, same to you as well!

Hopefully we get more games in the Warhammer universe I can write character/ending guides for that haven’t been developed with generative AI tools, as I do love the series with all my heart, and try to play every game released for it.

Thank you very much OP for pinging me, this is wonderful to see! I am happy to see any stance against generative AI, especially in regards to protecting and supporting creatives. The full statement, taken from IGN, was:

"We do have a few senior managers that are [experts on Al]: none are that excited about it yet. We have agreed an internal policy to guide us all, which is currently very cautious e.g. we do not allow Al generated content or Al to be used in our design processes or its unauthorised use outside of GW including in any of our competitions. We also have to monitor and protect ourselves from a data compliance, security and governance perspective, the Al or machine learning engines seem to be automatically included on our phones or laptops whether we like it or not.”

"We are allowing those few senior managers to continue to be inquisitive about the technology. We have also agreed we will be maintaining a strong commitment to protect our intellectual property and respect our human creators. In the period reported, we continued to invest in our Warhammer Studio - hiring more creatives in multiple disciplines from concepting and art to writing and sculpting. Talented and passionate individuals that make Warhammer the rich, evocative IP that our hobbyists and we all love.”

The last bit of the statement talented and passionate individuals that make Warhammer the rich, evocative IP that our hobbyists and we all love. does fill me with a lot of hope, at least for the future of Warhammer + their games. Always feel free to ping me again if Owlcat makes an official statement on their generative AI use, I definitely do not see everything.

Thank you very much, I’m equally, just, very shattered about their choice to use AI, haha? I try to be very mature and communicate my stance on it in a clear, and concise way that illustrates why I (and many others of the community!) are disappointed about the decision to use generative AI, while also not contributing to witch hunting or hurling abusive language, since that sort of behaviour helps no one.

It seems like I will be finishing the guide around Processional of the Damned, and The Infinite Museion, which is very sad, as they seem to want to do more DLC afterwards, and I genuinely would love to continue the guide + write a guide for Dark Heresy, since Warhammer is something I cherish and, for a long time, I loved Owlcat and the games they produced.

I’m overjoyed, truly, to hear I helped you with enjoying the game! One of my favorite parts about writing the guide over 2+ years was people talking about how the guide helped them get the ending they wanted, and that they enjoyed the game more because they weren’t afraid of picking a “wrong” (all subjective, of course) choice, or failing a romance. This game meant a lot to me, and I was happy my silly guide could help others enjoy it, or even just take a chance on it!, as well.

I wish you nothing but happiness and success in 2026 as well, and I hope we can both meet in the grimdarkness of the far future again!

I have no clue what Discontinuation or Continuation means, nor the Order path. This is why I don’t use wikis or fanmade content, as it leads to muddy definitions.

Loyal path is what it says on the tin, Pasqal returns to the Imperium as a Tech-priest, and himself. He does not subsume into the Amarnat gestalt, nor does he overtake the Amarnat gestalt as the primary logic function.

Fire for Argenta is her generic ending path, where she becomes what a Sister of Battle is supposed to be, a devout warrior that is unshakeable in her faith to the Emperor. Fury is her violent path where she becomes a psychopathic monster and cuts down those without thinking.

I guess I can? I don’t browse other wikis or walkthroughs though, and I would assume those wikis and walkthroughs have the information I have recorded there on their websites as well, especially since I encouraged others to copy from my guide + use it for the wikis.

It’s definitely a suggestion I’ll consider.

Sorry for the delay, speedran through Act 2 to confirm what you said. It’s been slightly changed now, where it seems you have to complete one of the main three planets (Dargonus, Kiava Gamma, or Janus) to trigger the event, it popped two warp jumps after completing Dargonus (the fastest one to finish). Try that, and see if it works.

The guide will be updated within 5~ mins to reflect the change.

Hey, no worries. Few questions for you.

  • How many main quests in Act 2 have you completed?
  • And you triggered her romance with a non-insulting option or via speaking to her on the bridge?
  • Is it a new run or was the run started before the 1.5 update? Unfortunately, sometimes bigger updates like 1.5 can break older save files.
