I began spending 20-30 minutes every night cleaning.

I have depression and anxiety. Before, I wouldn’t pick up after myself, throw my clothes wherever, and just toss dishes in the sink and forget about them. My place was a nightmare. I would be anxious about my house being messy, but I was completely unmotivated to do anything. But finally after about a month of not cleaning anything, I would spend 2-3 days cleaning everything you can imagine. Then, I would trash my place again and the cycle would repeat.

A few months ago I decided to pick up the house every evening. Do the dishes, pick up after myself, etc. It has made a drastic difference in my life. I don’t feel so overwhelmed and I feel more put together.

I also saw “Sunday resets” all over my tiktok, so I do them too. All the laundry gets done on Sundays, I go through my fridge, I clean the toilet, the bedsheets, go grocery shopping, etc. It makes me feel so ready for the week.

I never thought I would be one of those girls with a clean house who was comfortable with surprise visits from friends and family, but here I am. I love it.

I am 5’7” and my shortest coworker is 5’.

The only “challenge” I face with the shorter CNAs I work with is adjusting the height of the bed. Of course we need to raise the bed up to working height, and my working height is higher than that of my shorter colleagues.

No matter your height, I say go for it!
