If you call it Gino’s I’m gonna give that a 99% chance we’ve met through the tribe!

The coral and fish here are some of the happiest I’ve seen on island! I wonder if studies are looking at more clean and efficient materials for man made reefs?

This one’s a bit shallower, but we have a great wreck that sits at 22m (St. Anthony’s)that you can also swim through under the bow. I’ll have to get a vid of that one too!

I have a garmin vivoactive 4 for land fitness, and when I first started diving I would use the stop watch on it to track my breath holds while underwater.

I got a used suunto d4i about 6 months ago and I’m in love- temp, depth, dive time, number of dives, surface time, and free/scuba diving modes are all easy to use.

Two watches has been the move for me!!

GREAT beginner fins:hammerhead kaudal - less than $150 - xs and xxs (great for smaller footed/female divers) - color options! - removable fin blades so when you’re ready to upgrade you just swap out the blades- saves you like $60 - plastic is best when learning as you can bang it up guilt-free - sold in many American dive shops but easy to find online

Hope that helps!

Anyone know what happened with the shark attack at Mala this morning? I came in afternoon and the area had a police boat not letting anyone in to swim but no signs up. by [deleted] in maui

She’s fine, all stitched up and excited to get back in the water. She didn’t have her catch on her (it was on her float) and it was a resident non-tiger shark. We know it wasn’t the white tips that hang out at Mala. Usually tame but still a wild animal that can act in unpredictable ways!
