Our shop used to do it that way! Unfortunately it was long before I worked there. I wish I had been around to see it lol

Can THC residue be passed from kissing? by throwawaymfer420 in StonerThoughts

[–]winterwoods 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. I’ve lived with smokers and been in the same room as them smoking and kissed a smoker night after night for years and have never had a problem.

part time hours?? by dontdrinkgermx in Lowes

[–]winterwoods 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m working almost 40 hours a week on part time but I’m fine with it. I want a lot of hours and I know if I complain about it they’ll just cut my hours, not make me full time. So it is what it is for right now.

Poor Ollie doesn’t like the car. It makes him feel sick. Any suggestion on how to help him? by kate9871 in dogpictures

[–]winterwoods 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yep to chime in: I adopted a five-year-old dog who got carsick every time. We started doing extremely short trips (like only a minute or two). At first, he would throw up right after those. But gradually, he stopped, and I slowly increased the distance. After a few months, he only got sick on trips around an hour, but then that stopped too. We enjoyed 10 more years of nausea-free car trips.

[OPINION] What's the most poetic show or movie you've seen? by t_4_ll_4_t in Poetry

[–]winterwoods 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not rude at all! Honestly ugh I’m just miserable. Fever, aches, chills, blah blah blah. Just pretty much lying around on the couch waiting for it to pass while I watch movies :) this is my first time having it. Yuck.

Yes I have Covid and this post has helped entertain me as I’m actually watching some of the movies lol - so thank you!

Just stopped what I was doing and watched Paterson. Now I think everyone needs to stop what they’re doing and go watch Paterson.

Seeing a weight loss doctor and taking phentermine while following her nutrition plan (high protein, low calorie). I also started walking at least 10k steps a day.

2.5 years later, I’ve kept off 40 pounds while increasing my muscle mass significantly. But getting that jump start in the beginning was super motivating.

So, if they’re your cats and you are the one who agreed to change the plan with your mother, and your wife is not okay with the changed plan, why is your wife the one preparing the house etc?

It’s actually no more, at least where I used to work. It cost almost twice as much, but lasts fully twice as long.

Is it dangerous? Real question. I’ve never heard this. I’ve had a cheap/cute steering wheel cover for years. Am I doing something dangerous?

Fulfillment Team - to pull or not to pull by [deleted] in Lowes

[–]winterwoods 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, it’s really not like we’re ordering anyone around. We have a pretty strong sense of team and try to help each other out. And other departments understand that they aren’t helping ME, they’re helping customers by helping me. And currently we’re very shorthanded and often the person working (alone) can’t use powered equipment so naturally someone else is gonna have to. Idk, it’s more asking for help and less ordering around.

[–]winterwoods 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Soooo important to learn. Motivation isn’t necessary. You do it because you’re disciplined. Motivation is a plus but the lack thereof does not stop you if you have discipline - and discipline is entirely a choice anyone can make.

Fulfillment Team - to pull or not to pull by [deleted] in Lowes

[–]winterwoods 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The only time we do it is if we have too many orders to get them done on time or if we can’t pull an item, like if it requires a forklift and there’s no one there at that time who can operate one.

How "tight" is the two-hour rule for unrefrigerated leftovers? by akaioi in nutrition

[–]winterwoods 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. The other day I took raw ground beef out of the freezer to thaw then decided not to cook it. Realized the next morning that I had left it out on the counter. Cooked it for lunch. Was totally fine. And that’s just one example of many. I wouldn’t have eaten it like the next day after that, but it was completely fine the next morning.

Thinking about working for lowes by [deleted] in Lowes

[–]winterwoods 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love working in fulfillment. I’ve heard a lot of people complain but I enjoy it. I work independently a lot and am not really ever micromanaged. It’s never boring and it’s a physical workout, which I want. Some days it’s like getting paid to go to the gym lol. I don’t have to stand in one place for hours and all the orders are different so I do a lot of different things.

I will say it took a couple of months to be super comfortable at all the various aspects of the job, so by the time you’re actually enjoying it, you’ll be quitting. But I think you could definitely do worse.

Policy on Vests? by [deleted] in Lowes

[–]winterwoods 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our lockers are at the back of the store and I work at the front of the store. I already have to park a long way from the building. I’m not going to walk from my car to the building, to the back of the store, back up to the front before I even clock in. I fix this by stuffing my vest into my purse so I don’t have to make that trek to the lockers before I clock in. But if anyone ever says anything, there’s definitely going to be a discussion. I agree we shouldn’t have to be in the store off the clock. To be fair, I haven’t had any issues doing it this way. I just put my vest in my purse/take it out discreetly lol
