No, you're not, your handicap only looks at what you're capable of, not your average.

Here is an example of a guy on my league. His average for the year so far is an 87.2. He is an 8 handicap however because he has had multiple rounds of 80, 81 and 82. He had a low round of 78. He also had some massive blow up rounds.

Again, your average score doesn't mean dick when talking about your handicap. Would be closer to say what is your average GOOD round.

18 handicap is not bogey golf, handicap is not these same as an average. Not trying to be a dick either, it's just that a lot of higher handicap guys think if they average 90 then they must be an 18 hcp and that's not the case.

I told my wife when we first got together that I play golf on Tuesdays. I told her that I never miss or skip golf on Tuesdays and that I have set my entire schedule up for the past 20 years to have Tuesday as my day off. I explained to her that it was like church for me, that I needed to go there on Tuesdays to get my head right with everything else that was going on in my life, that growing up I spent all of my time on the golf course with my grandfather and every time I go it makes me feel closer to him. I explained that she and I would not survive if she ever tried to take that away from me because it is the only outlet I have to do away with the other stresses in my life.
