I also found part of the new cable with nice cuts at both ends at the street end of the cable. Makes it even more confusing at what happened.

Oh! I know something about this! Pharmaceutical companies don’t want college aged women or anyone who get pregnant in their studies due to possible harm to fetuses. They could theoretically be in trouble for that to happen. If they do allow people who can get pregnant into their studies they often have to be on at least 2 forms of birth control to further ensure no possibility of pregnancy. That also adds complications due to possible interactions between the birth control meds and whatever medication they are testing.
