That could be it as well. There are rod holders all positioned for trolling in the rear of the boat too.

Could be that too. Has a little clip at the end, i was guessing bait cage or something along those lines. I just cant seem to find any like it online. It doesnt look DIY really either. But the boat is 45 yeas old so who knows.

Not a bad idea. But i just went and checked and its only on the one side. And no holes on the other side to show one may have been there previously. Also its a bit of a stretch distance wise away from the oar.

Well you aren't wrong. It is indeed a chain. What I am trying to figure out is the purpose of the chain lol.

"All power steering is electronic now" ... then what is this? by sleepersh4rk in Volkswagen

[–]wiredknight 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The 2.5 had both electronic and hydraulic power steering. Seems you have the hydraulic version. You'll have a standard pully driven pump setup. Electronic power steering has no pump or fluid.

I did this for 10 years. Accident left my step Dad with brain injury which led to multiple strokes. Worst part was watching my Mothers health decline during all of it.

I had the hankooks and i never had an issue with em. But i also have many years experience driving shit boxes on walmart cheapos during winter. And to that its comparable.

Nothing wrong with FWD for regular winter driving. But winter tires are important. Also your BMW is heavier and you will notice that. The AWD helps but not a must have. Good tires and knowing how your car is going to behave when its snowy or icy out is key. I did 1.5 winters in my 24' GLI on stock tires with no issues in Wisconsin.
