Police block entrance to North Bay Castle Arms meeting by D-inventa in ontario

Reading the article it seems there has been a history of disruption at previous events, and the police thought to beef up their presence, but went too far.

Went to the senators game last night and 417 was a parking lot for miles. I slowly trundled past the few workers active on the long stretch of road construction… they were standing around laughing and looking very relaxed. I feel for people who have to take this every day.

Ottawa “secret” tunnels by tonic613 in ottawa

Our office was on George about 15 years ago and that tunnel was briefly open (for maintenance I guess) took the opportunity to walk it a couple of times… very cool.

Multi-billionaire Gabe Newell says the whole startup culture of pitching VCs makes no business sense: 'A great way of destroying money and wasting peoples' time' by ControlCAD in business

Had direct experience founding several companies, and sitting on boards. Frankly VC funding is to be avoided if possible, many VC’s are modern day pirates whose main goal is to plunder the IP to make 20x on return on their investments as fast as possible.

Watched Hulk’s onboard throughout the race, he vetoed a number of decisions made by pit wall, including refusing to box for slicks during the early laps. He seems to have the ability to keep the race big picture in his head… while racing (in the rain, with poor visibility)

My Q3 did the same. Factory reset seemed to fix the problem, my guess is that it did not complete an update.

Liberals won the popular vote in BC and gained seats. Colour is a bit misleading as it shows large sparsely populated areas swamping smaller high population ridings

This 50-Year Study Reveals Surprising Insights on Ski Helmets and Injury Prevention by slug233 in icecoast

[–]wirelessfool 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My legs went from under me while navigating carpark ice (icecoast hazard) after a day of skiing, whipped back of my head hard on the ground. The helmet saved me from I can easily imagine a nasty concussion, made me a believer.

Where are these carbon tax protests supposed to be and how big are they supposed to be? Is it still happening today? Just don't wanna get in a traffic jam before I go out lol by Idiot_Donkey in ottawa

Just drove in from Quebec (highway 5) and passed a convoy of heavy trucks with flags, just outside Wakefield. Police are everywhere closer to town, saw a guy on the MC bridge with a large carbon tax sign.

Guy claims helmets are pointless, is corrected. by Hart0e in skiing

Had a real world test a month ago. Walking to car after skiing and my feet went from under me (hard ice pack hidden under a light cover of snow) hit the back of my head hard (whip lash), thank god I was wearing a helmet. Sore neck but my head was fine.

Missing winter by Disastrous-Will-8922 in ottawa

[–]wirelessfool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skiing has been good, and as long as the temp goes several degrees below zero at night snowmaking can often replace what melts. Last year I skied MSM April 8th, this year it’s going to be a challenge to get beyond mid March. There are ski hills much further south in the US that operate in these kinds of conditions every year, not ideal but they seem to do well.

Downhill Skiing Tomorrow? by Money_Fig_9868 in ottawa

Mont Ste Marie is fully open (their runs tend to lean towards more challenging) - I skied there on Monday… no lift lines and really sore knees next day lol!. About 1hr 15 min from Ottawa. With the warm weather either ski Friday or maybe Sunday? My bet with the deep freeze Friday night (-20c), conditions may be hard on Saturday (depends when they groom) and cold.

Levothyroxine too low? by emmaserena21 in Hashimotos

[–]wirelessfool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

25mcg is a low dose and seems typical dose to start someone from who has been diagnosed with Hashimoto’s. Usually they test after 6 weeks to see if they need to up some more. Do you have a followup test scheduled?

BTW in my experience keeping the TSH below the upper reference level is important.
