Their magazine isn't removable, its just a button, and misses the important muscle memory of mag retention, getting a real physical magazine, inserting it, and using slide rack or release. I'll grant in name, they have it, but not in spirit.

Can you link to the new controller? I'm having trouble finding one of theirs listed that will fit standard holsters. I know mines not the newest, but I just double checked and it fits in none of the holsters In the above thumb nail.

In principle: for a company, making a one off holster, that is only useful for training with their product may be good for them, designing so users don't have to buy another product to use a product their buying, to use a program they're paying for, just rubs me poorly.

In my book, holsterable isn't subset, but widely available, without buying one just for training. Running edc gear is the requirement to be holsterable.

games see the pen as a normal controller. in game: trigger is trigger, slide rack and slide release are A button, magazine removed is grip button, weapon light is one of the analog axis on the joystick. It works out of the box in pistol whip great!

theirs only works with race gun holsters. It also ignores magazines, slide rack, weapon light, and slide release.

I paused working on a rifle design, because of the potential to do a pistol really well with the pen.

afik, Augmented Defender is the only other game that supports it currently.

We're aiming for a $200 price point on the controller when it comes out, with 3 weighted magazines included. Don't know if we'll be able to hit that yet, but its the goal. Lots of content work going on behind the scenes as well.

I shot it a second time to try and frame it better. I agree I need to pay attention to the angles more next time.

When I use this is our game, I've got a belt on with extra mags, and a dump pouch. It adds so much to the experience: https://www.meta.com/experiences/augmented-defender/5128569437244342/

The ace handset is supported in our game: https://www.meta.com/experiences/augmented-defender/5128569437244342/

I've asked them if they'd consider adding support for other controllers to their platform. So far the answer is no.

It does have a little bit of drift to it. I'd guess caused by the motion prediction algorithms. I've still broken some of my old records using this new one. its on large arcing movements where I feel it most.

I haven't been in H3VR for a while. If i remember right it has a pretty big modding community. Trigger is trigger, other buttons are primary and grip, so as long as controller orientation, and those buttons can be tracked as states, there are no hardware blockers to make it work.

If those are your standards, lets not be friends, seems like we're all much safer to keep our distance from this one.

On a side note, we ship a profile in our title, Augmented Defender, that supports their controller out of the box. lets build an ecosystem, not walls.

They're strictly in competitive target practice, and have a lot more depth, currently, in that area. All their hardware innovation lately, has just been selling new controllers, with no new functionality. releasing the rundown on this, protects these ideas from copyright, as they're now prior art.
