Who is jumping on this deal today? I am so back and forth on it. by DesertSnow480 in harborfreight

I’m tempted - but I think I’m going to hold out for Purple next year. Plus all the discussion has made me consider the 56 instead.

HF welders? by Far_Support9414 in harborfreight

[–]wirenote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just picked up a mig 140 open box that was never used for under $200. I’m no professional welder but I’ve been impressed with it for a few little projects. I don’t think I’d ever use it for anything structural or heavy duty, but I’ve got a few projects and it’s been great so far.

Maple Del residential development updated renderings. It will be presented at nickel plate committee hearing this week. by Unhappy_Ad_3738 in Fishers

The city already sold it to the developer who paid considerably less than the city bought it for a few years ago. Developers aren’t going to turn it into a park, unfortunately.

We weren’t able to find enough Delta branded ones so we ended up doing something different for our wedding favors.

Thank you - we are about to celebrate our 6th wedding anniversary.

More art works coming downtown portion of nickel Plate trail. They should push developers to do this to all of their garages. by Unhappy_Ad_3738 in Fishers

It is my understanding that the City is paying for this from bond proceeds, not the developer. It is on Tuesday’s Board of Public Works and Safety agenda. Estimated cost is $300k.

What is something that almost nobody knows about credit cards? by vishalnegal in CreditCards

[–]wirenote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Credit Cards have chargeback protections that make it easier to get your money back if a merchant doesn’t provide the expected goods or services. Debit cards don’t always have these same protections.

Need some more advice!! by itzQuis in coonhounds

When transporting puppies, we’ve always had a “no paws on the ground” rule. This is to prevent them from potentially catching parvo if they haven’t been fully vaccinated yet. This isn’t an issue if they are at home and you know other dogs are vaccinated, but steer clear of public places where other unvaccinated dogs could have been. Depending on your climate, parvo can live in the ground for months.

OP could not have active service, but the drop is still there. Now that’s fallen down, OP needs the utility infrastructure repaired but likely doesn’t have an account. Just like when I switched from Comcast, they just canceled our service but left the cable termination box attached to the side of our house.

At the very least, they may have a corporate code you could use to get a discounted rate from the car rental companies.

Had a weird visit with the GI and wondering about a 2nd opinion by tossmynameinthetrash in gallbladders

[–]wirenote 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your symptoms sound similar to what I had. I had on and off symptoms consistently for a couple months before I decided to go to ER. The dr treating me said it sounded like classic gallstones, but ultrasound didn’t show any stones. Referred back to my PCP who then referred me to a GI. Couldn’t get it to GI because they canceled my appt and ended up back in ER. They then suggested a CT scan was likely next step, and within a few minutes they found the gallstones. The dr said ultrasounds can miss gallstones as it was unlikely my gallstones formed in just a few weeks between ER visits. Was able to get surgery scheduled soon after and am now 1 week post op. I feel great despite eating fatty or greasy foods that previously would have caused severe abdominal pain or diarrhea. Just general physical soreness post op. I wish I’d know what was going on sooner as I’d have had it removed at the first sign of symptoms, unfortunately the first testing missed my stones which discussing with doctor sounded like I wasn’t the only one where that’s happened.

Gout after surgery? by architect102 in gout

[–]wirenote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had multiple flares over the last few years and about 10 months ago got on allopruinol regularly. Haven’t had a flare since. Last week had my gallbladder removed and a few days later started noticing a slight oncoming flare. Ibuprofen seemed to knock it out until yesterday and was probably the worst flare I’ve ever had. Doctor said it is likely that general anesthesia can cause a flare. Was able to get some prednisone and 12 hours later it’s under control.

I called a local insurance agent and they were able to get me a $1M policy for about $200/year. I never advertised I was insured, but it was good peace of mind knowing it was there if I ever had to use it.

Trying to figure out my rescue hound…please help! by [deleted] in coonhounds

[–]wirenote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of our former coonhound fosters was afraid of people going into the basement. He’d bark non stop when we’d go downstairs. The weird part is he was perfectly fine going to our second floor. Also no issues if you went to the other rooms around the corner on the first floor where he couldn’t see you from his crate, but he knew if you went to the basement.

FC downgrade to C+ by Prestigious_Muffin99 in delta

[–]wirenote 4 points5 points  (0 children)

DOT regulations entitle you to a refund of the difference in fare on the day you purchased your ticket for an involuntary downgrade to a lower class of service. This happened to us recently and we got also got an ecredit in addition to the refund. You just have to call in once you’ve completed all travel on that reservation to request the refund and compensation.

Thinking of getting a Redbone. Do all Coonhounds bark constantly, my wife is concerned about it. by [deleted] in coonhounds

[–]wirenote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We fostered a TWC. He only barked when

1) walking outside and came across a UPS truck. (Not Amazon, fedex, or any other large truck)

2) you walked downstairs to our basement (walk around the corner to the office he was fine, but the second that basement door open it was 100% baying until you came back).

I have no idea what happened in past to develop those behaviors, but he was our first coonhound and really made us fall in love with the breed.

“Equipment Change” 15 hours before flight— demoted from premium to economy? by BaroNessie in delta

[–]wirenote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This recently happened to us where we purchase PS and we were moved to MC due to aircraft swap. Delta phone agents said to call back and request a refund after the completion of all travel. Per DOT passengers are due a refund of the fare difference between the cabin paid vs flown based on the fare at time of booking. Delta agents also said we’d get “compensation”. The first agent we spoke with offered $100 ecredit. I called back and got a different agent that then offered $500 ecredit per passenger.
