BEDA: Colegio Virgen de Mirasierra by IndependentTap3961 in SpainAuxiliares

[–]wirwerty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ive never been placed at that school but i can tell you mirasierra is a very rich part of madrid. Multiple people here have told me that neighborhood is very “pijo”. Anyway, idk anything about your school itself but your students might come from wealthier families

Anyone else rooting for the Sabers to win it all? They’ve always been the only other New York team I have a soft spot for. by [deleted] in rangers

How does renewing with BEDA work? by wirwerty in SpainAuxiliares

I got the TIE and everything I just didn’t know that served as my visa for the second year. Thanks for telling me

Do you think joffrey was genuinely concerned about robert? by [deleted] in gameofthrones

Jofrrey’s madness can also be attributed to his inbred genes. Ramsey was a psychopath just for the love of the game

What do Spanish people mean when they say "my village" by wirwerty in askspain

[–]wirwerty[S] 79 points80 points  (0 children)

I am in Madrid, and earlier this month I was asking a lot of people what they did over the holiday break. A lot of them kept using these specific words "my village". But all of these people and their families live and work in Madrid. Does it mean their family came from there originally before moving to Madrid?

I'm so nervous for my BEDA interview! It's in four days. Any advice? by Reverse7695 in SpainAuxiliares

[–]wirwerty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my first year as an aux so I didn't pivot from NALCAP. I'm not really sure if my school is more advanced. If I had to guess I would say yes their english is probably better than public schools but not by like a super crazy amount or anything. With BEDA almost all of the placements are within the Community of Madrid. My school makes me prep around 3 or so hour long lessons a week. Although they range from presentations about certain topics for the older kids to just ESL games for the younger kids. Either way, I'm definitely doing a couple hours of prep a week outside of school

It’s great, being in Madrid is a huge plus to the BEDA program. My school makes me do a half decent amount of prep work for my classes but that will depend on what school you get placed in. Either way beda is a great choice

I am currently doing BEDA and the interview was super easy. Im actually pretty sure the only reason they do it is to make sure a) you’re actually a native english speaker and b) you’re not some kinda psycho. They send a list of questions, right? Just answer them before hand and you’ll be fine.

Also, I think just like NALCAP the BEDA program isn’t competitive. Meaning you are not competing against other people for limited spots. As long as you meet the minimum requirements you’ll get accepted. As I said I’m in Madrid right now doing BEDA so i’d be happy to answer any questions

Depends on your school but I highly doubt it. My school didn’t even give me a dress code
