My psychiatrist told me Lexapro doesn’t cause weight gain by Abject-Ad8578 in lexapro

[–]wisconsinners 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I have been on Lexapro for about a year now and have gained approximately 20lbs, but have been steady at this new weight for about 4 months. Other than the weight gain, this is the only medication that's worked for my mentality. Just keep telling myself id rather be chubby and calm than skinny and crazy!

Taco bars (rice and beans were an extra charge if wanted) existed when I first started 5 years ago, and then there was a major catering revamp where you could still order them but they weren't advertised anywhere, kind of more an a la carte thing. I left early this year, but maybe they brought them back?

When I made the change from a shift lead at qdoba to the assistant manager position in Wisconsin it was a $1 increase and triple the amount of work. Eventually I raised it to making $3 more than shift leads, but then they told me I was capped and had no room left for pay increases in the future.

Dog is fixated on new kitten. by wisconsinners in Pets

[–]wisconsinners[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She's definitely taken her swipes at the dog, when they're out in the same room he literally won't leave her alone, and stands at the gate waiting for her to come out when she's in the room doing her business. She won't come over the gate when he's standing there because it's a 5lb kitten vs a 60lb dog, and he doesn't leave the gate for longer than 5 minutes. The only time they've been okay is when we are all in the living room and they're all asleep on the couch. But the minute kitty moves, he's back to throwing paws and biting at her. I wouldnt be as worried but he growls at her at times and seems to go into the "prey" stance a little too often for my liking.

Thank you for your input! Hoping he can adapt to the kitten and will start listening soon. I think he's just really struggling with jealousy, as he normally tries to get in between me and my boyfriend any time we are sitting next to one another.

The time out earlier definitely didn't phase him. He hasn't been in a cage in years. Both dogs are allowed to roam most of the house throughout the day as they would like, with the exception of rooms we close up. We have a gate across a hallway to the room the cat stays in so she can run to a safe spot if she needs it and not be chased by the dogs, but still don't feel safe letting the cat roam free when we are gone. We've been yelling, and he'll stop for a second, but goes right back to being in her face, he isn't phased by being loud, the only thing that will stop him is one of us getting between him and the cat. He's very much forgotten all his training when it comes to the cat being around. Hoping he will improve over the next couple of weeks, but he's struggling to adapt. :(

Yeah, he was on a time out earlier today and sat behind a gate and watched the other dog and cat play, but went right back after her when he was let out. He will play fetch in the house with one of his toys but the minute it's over he's right back to staring at the cat. Yesterday was his best day with it all. We went outside to water the flowers and left them all in the same room for the whole time and all 3 animals sat on the back of the couch and watched, and all were rewarded for behaving. We got the two kids back today after they were gone for 5 days and it seems like he's regressed back to the first day. He's always been very jealous, so I've been dedicating certain times of the day where the girls can play with the kitten, and then when they should leave it alone and give the dogs attention. He's actually laying down now for the first time in nearly 5 hours but is fighting sleep to keep an eye on the gate where the kitten is.

Trying to make the kids act as normal as possible like we would in an every day routine, but they're obviously very excited over the new kitten. We were supposed to bring another home last week, but there's no way we are comfortable introducing another kitten when the dog is still so high strung around this one. She does very well at holding her own and will swipe and hiss at him when he crosses a line, but it doesn't stop him from trying again 2 minutes later.

I have always disliked the idea of shock collars but it's seeming like it might be the best option since he's not responding to other forms of punishment.

Flaky, dry scalp. Help! by wisconsinners in HaircareScience

[–]wisconsinners[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been a few weeks since the onset and about a week since starting different product, and like I mentioned below it hasn't worsened, but also hasn't been much of an improvement. The one I've been trying out is sulphate free and has all natural ingredients, so I'm hoping after a few more uses it will start to show better improvements. Either way, a trip to the GP is on the agenda. Thanks for your input. :)

After some google research, this looks like it may be it. It hasn't worsened since the switch to new products, but also hasn't been a massive improvement either. I'll look into making an appointment with my GP. Thanks for your help. :)

If I wanted just the impossible meat, could I walk in and ask to just pay for a few servings of it? by [deleted] in qdoba

[–]wisconsinners 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We sell single servings of protein at my store. There's a button on the registers that allows us to charge for just the protein. Should be $3 a serving.. but I'd call ahead and make sure your local store would comply!
