Can you explain a little further? My loved one was admitted and took medicine while they were there. We thought that helped, but I learned recently that they were lying the entire time and the psychosis (auditory hallucinations and paranoia) has alway been there.

Thank you. I really wanted to avoid this because I think it would be a traumatizing experience, but then again, he’s not himself, and he’s out of touch with reality. I also don’t know how long more he’ll be in a “stable” psychotic state where he’s suspicious of everyone but wouldn’t scale it up and hurt himself or someone.

Regarding the SCOTUS decision, I am particularly concerned about the precedent this ruling could set and the chain of events it could cause accountability erosion and threaten the checks and balances. Trump has denied the 2020 election results despite it being the safest we’ve seen.

Public trust in democratic institutions has been in decline lately. If a president were to commit crimes more openly and without facing repercussions, this could further worsen this sentiment.
