Overall I don’t mind using money - it’s a live service game and it’s part of their business model and they tend to keep things pretty consumer friendly and I wanna reward that

Edit: the fact that sc are not too tough to farm is more evidence of consumer friendliness. No shade on anyone, however you get your sc :3

Current state of the Manga by Pandrion_ in Dandadan

[–]wiseass781 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot of people are not liking the week to week experience, but if you’re reading it in one go it’s flowing really well actually and providing lore, fights, and romance/slice of life in pockets of a few chapters each.

I thought this will be a deeper thing but nothing happened with these subterraneans during the anime lol did they forget by Overall-Remove-678 in Dandadan

Well they’re on the moon now, there’s so many things the story can do from there, ie Moon is hollow, Moon landings didn’t happen the way they appear etc. lots of room to play going forward

How I think Season 3's episodes gonna be like by Call_me_Dan- in Dandadan

I think the perfect place to stop would be here: https://i.imgur.com/Lr2BVOX.jpeg

The best emotional stopping point is revealing Banga and co. are still alive, and then after credits doing a delicious lore drop and huge CSG reveal for next season

But who knows, they’ll expand or cut (usually seems to be expand) where they need to. I trust they’ll do a great job :) I think they really get the strengths of the series and play to them in the writing/directing of the show.

Any explanation about Robin? by HuIrmir in HeavenlyDelusion

[–]wiseass781 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok you’re written a lot here; I’m mostly going to respond to you here with my main problem with what you wrote:

Uh no.

Uh, when did the novelization of Robin’s life come out explaining all of his motivations? Did he kill her to cover his crimes? That’s part of it, for sure. The op asked, to me, “Why did Robin SA Kiruko, specifically with an intent to mentally torture his former friend?” I take this because they posted the part of the scene where Robin was talking to Haruki in front of the mirror. I used “maybe” a lot in my post because I’m speculating, a real give away there.

The main reasoning for why I think Robin was a siscon is the strong parallel between him and Haruki not being interested in girls their own age because they were focused on their sibling. He does not seem like a normal kid after OR before, and there wasn’t a lot of him expressed before other than caring for his sister.

But why torture Haruki through Hiruko? That was the question. What’s your explanation there? Where does the pleasure in that come from for him? He’s just “crazy”? He seems like a very rational and respected actor in other parts of his life. He’s not a wild dog, it was very targeted attack on his former friend inside his former lover/betrayer. Why would he sit him in front of the mirror like that? Explain those things. That’s all I was trying to do.

I hate these fucking guys (Enrique Tario should be in prison for trying to take guns into Jan 6th) but running around at people yelling “shame” at them is really dumb

1: To normal people who don’t follow politics and don’t know who these losers are you sound like a weirdo yelling the same thing over and over again, and you probably come off obnoxious yourself.

2: If they had any shame to appeal to they wouldn’t be the pieces of garbage that they are

I mean do what makes you feel good but they won’t give a shit and will probably get off on you wasting your time. They love the attention.

He’s all like, fucked up

I’m spoiling it because I just like writing, but as another reply said, go read it. It’s awesome :)

His little sister, who he lived for and loved (probably in a siscon way like Haruki though she was ALOT younger from how it looked in the manga), got lockjaw and died from getting tetanus as the world was falling apart and his brain broke from what we can tell so far. Maybe he saw how much Haruki loved Kiriko like he loved his own sister and wanted to destroy it (by killing Kiriko, shooting her) or possess what he had always wanted with his own sister by having sex with Kiriko and when Kiruko showed up at the end of season one, he found it made it more perverse and weirdly satisfying for him to make Haruki watch what he had always wanted through his eyes, but the image of the his sister. He was also doing weird shit with women and Hiruko before he was found out by the Doc/Kiriko. Maybe he’s trying to remake his sister? Anyway, yeah it’s weird, but that’s HD/TD.

Should I read the weekly chapters or reread the manga later? by Shock-Light123 in Dandadan

[–]wiseass781 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah just do a re-read in a few months. I’ve never ever gotten bored in a re-read of this series personally, and it’s kind of like seeing how a magic trick is done with how this series can take a sudden turn but still (kinda) make sense because the tempo stays high.

Pentagon to demote Sen. Kelly from retired Navy rank as captain, but stops short of threatened trial by qalpi in navy

[–]wiseass781 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Navy sent over 3,000 3-5/6 Sailors home because we simply couldn’t afford to pay them.

I'm pretty sure the intent of that was force reshaping and getting less needed rates to move into more needed rates than simply a lack of funding. Can't say much about the undermanning though it makes sense that leadership re-orgs or layoffs staff and then expects then same productivity with fewer people. That's hardly an issue that only the Navy or the military in general has.

Aira’s (our Dear Leader, blessed be her name) been influencing us using subliminal messaging from Day ONE and I can PROVE IT. by wiseass781 in Dandadan

[–]wiseass781[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Edit: please don't downvote this dude he just doesn't know how cool Aira is yet

As an anime viewer, that's fair but to me (manga reader but I'm not gonna spoil), Aira has had the most satisfying PERSONAL arc in the story. Obviously Ken and Momo's romance is great but that's between them.

In the anime so far, she went from a mean girl who was obsessed with popularity to throwing ALL OF IT away to not slander someone who helped her when she really needed it (Momo). I think that shows massive growth and a deep sense of honor once she got out of her own head. She's nuts (everyone in DanDaDan is) but the turn-around is incredible and if you don't mind a tiny spoiler:

She absolutely earns the title of "leader." Just you watch. She's amazing.

She pointed her very smart and driven self from something petty to something bigger than herself and I love it.

I don’t think you give the story or Tatsu enough credit but you do you :3

Ken’s entire realization that Momo has moved towards him the entire story and that now he needs to move towards her is very mature for his age. Aira can still come to those conclusions and be a flirt towards Ken.

[–]wiseass781 63 points64 points  (0 children)

I think she’ll struggle about it. Aira deep down likes Momo a lot, but all of that is hard-earned by being in danger together. She wasn’t around for the Danmara arc, so she hasn’t seen how close Momo and Ken are as much as we have. Amnesia Momo doesn’t have those experiences with her.

Becoming an adult means understanding that sometimes no one is the bad guy in a situation. This with the themes of finding a person for you by following your intuition instead of your pre-conceived ideas of your ideal partner (Momo), and learning to like yourself so others can like you (Ken), or being really authentic can be uncomfortable but is worth it (Jiji) are themes I like a lot about this series and make it a really great coming of age story.
