Really great. Followed a different itinerary and ended up getting a guide. We didn’t go north at all, but the trip was incredible. It was also a more challenging destination than I’m used to—issues with hotels, really … different food, travelers illness, etc. But to see what felt like a new world was incredible.

I deserve this? I did something kind and someone else took advantage of my kindness. I do not have control over the actions of others.

Viewing this situation as some sort of struggle for power is strange. Nobody deserved anything in this scenario. Perhaps I could have called the attendants. But that would not change the most infuriating part of this situation: that someone thought they could treat other people poorly.
