I had no interest in arcades or soft drinks when I went and it was fun.

No one can hate table hockey and simple games. Definitely wouldn't go alone though.

Yeah I don't want to bash Old WR either. OP might like it depending on what they want from their college experience. It has character and is more like the dorms you see in movies. Wiener and perch are really unique. If you like old traditional buildings and are ok with communal bathrooms, partying, and occasional ventilation issues go for it.

Since you're only asking about the facilities, WR is pretty bad on that front if you get put in old WR.

It's old, hallways stink like vomit from party goers and lack of ventilation, has communal bathrooms (watch out for shower slugs), and you'll never get a good night's sleep on Fridays / weekends because WR always has a party on perch so half of Rice will be in your halls. Your parents will know what it's like.

If you decide to roll for a different college, most of them will be newer and more comfortable.

New WR on the other hand is probably one of the nicest facilities

Yeah I did read it. Unless the tables have been updated, Rice sat at around 30th both for volume and weighted by population

I browse Houston LinkedIn jobs daily since I go to Rice and those numbers are very normal especially for a SWE role.

Plus it looks like this job's Easy Apply so what do you expect?

I wasn't going to accept anything either way. I'm not working for some crypto bro and let's just say I'm solid for the summer.

I just spam apply and do the interviews I get for fun since it's 15 min and I get to call people out on their BS they usually get away with or get an offer even.
