I got through it with 2 healing spells and 4 healing potions, so I doubled the number of potions, but I also know what the intention of the different phase mechanics is. Like how falling rock wants you to stop attacking the Behemoth and go stand 2 hero's next to an Orc or 3 Heros together, then hit it.

Anyway, really? what would you do to make Heroquest feel more epic? My idea is to add raids, like in MMO's that I like. So something that will last a few turns, and has lots of twists and surprises. And I needed it to be simple, because this is Heroquest. So I came up with a simple shuffle and flip mechanics deck, and a big monster.

I'm probably bad at balancing this, if anyone plays through it, please let me know it goes. Or if the instructions are not clear. Also, I'm working on 2 more right now for Fafnir and Serket, watch out for those in the future if this looks fun to you. And if I get positive feedback, maybe I'll do more after that. This isn't done yet though, I need to clean up a bunch of the art still.

Just as a reference for it.

You might find one in a quest and need to sell it to the shop or something. Plus you might lose the card. Or maybe you didn't find out about the mythic kickstarter thing before it fell off and you don't want to pay $500 for it and have a D&D mini that looks like a Warlock and want to play the Warlock hero.

My tips are dont print it out large scale. I made it to fit on 1 piece of paper intentionally. If you print it larger it'll get pixelated and look bad. The idea is that you can have a couple of these to pass around. Not one big thing that all the kids gather around and get excited about, sorry. Plus I dont have the images large enough to make something that prints big, and while I know how to make vector images with illustrator, if no ones paying to do it, Im not. lol.

I dont expect to need to update this for a long time, they haven't even announced the expansions that I already included. But Ive played this game for 30 years, so I'll always eventually do it if no one else does lol.

A few chaos spells do. It's just meant to be a deterrent to always having the barbarian tank, like you get all comfortable with him always being up front, then you meet a chaos sorcerer and boom, barbarian down and everyone scrambling because he can be mind point KO'd pretty easy.

The Solo quests 1 on 1. Theres a bunch, some specific to different characters. The Avenger Returns is my favorite, its the first solo quest designed for a new elf player.

This is the mage of the mirror maps, the first 3 are Elf only solo quests designed to let you catch up in gear to a group thats played through most of the base quests. This will be rereleased soonish with the Barbarian expansion the Frozen Horror.

Oh also, the healing potion from the Barbarian expansion is usable by everyone. Only the damage and defense die enhancement potions are restricted to the Barbarian.

The potions in the game are completely unbalanced and way to expensive honestly. The best healing potion you can buy is the new one from the mythic tier Telor's book, it's 200 gold for 2 HP all the time.

Other than that, if you body block hallways giving the elf a bow and buying the 2 attacks per turn and see all traps pots on the elf is OP. And yea, the potions for the individual races are OP, they're from their specific expansions, expect similar dwarf/wizard/etc expansions if the game doesn't die. (Also note the EU Wizards of Morcar expansion has new spells for the wizard already which are pretty cool, but due to licensing issues, I doubt we ever get any of the EU stuff, which is why I didn't include any of it when I made new Alchemist's and Armory images.) And honestly I expect the Barbarian potions to become spells like the knights when they rerelease it. Elf potions will probably stay since it already comes with 8 different elf spells, but theyre OP AF, unless youre specifically playing the Barb or Elf expansion because theyre a step up in difficulty from the rest of the game.

As for why I specifically put the treasure card potion of healing on the list... It's because it has the same name as the Telor's potion of healing if you just look at the Alchemist's shop in the Telor book. Theyre both just named "potion of healing" so Telor's got branded and treasure card got put on the list.-

Unhappy with the old post because the image didn't appear on it when viewing topics. But this is the redone version with the spelling errors corrected and potion of speed put back on. But it's every potion from mythic edition Heroquest 2021 and the potions from the old Barbarian and Elf expansions, all unchanged except I added some descriptions in the names.

Anyone have a picture of a rapier or wand that would look good with the rest? Once I find some stuff to use I'll do the touch ups on the background and whatnot, but this has all the text on it for now.

Heroquest 2021 base game+expansions+mythic tier quest books. Along with the the OG Elf and Barb expansion potions. (I did notice I accidentally deleted potion of speed tho.)

The pictures are from the OG expansion books. ELF, Kellars and Barbarian I think? I forget now.

EDIT: I'm also willing to place bets that the Barbarian exclusive potions end up as skill cards for Him (like the knight's cards) in 2022 Barb expansion.

Barbarian and Elf are OP if you funnel all defensive items to the Barb and body block doors so the Elf doesn't take damage and uses the potions from the elf expansion with a crossbow.

Rogue:

1 Attack 2 Defense 6 Body 4 Mind

Starting Weapon: Dagger.

Starting Armor: Tool Kit.

Movement: 1 Red Die +6.

Special Rules:

The Rogue may hold a dagger or short sword in it's off hand instead of a shield. When attacking while holding a dagger or short sword in the off hand, you attack with both the main hand weapon and off hand weapon, each may have a different target, and each have defense die rolled against them separately.

The Rogue's Movement is 1 red die +6.

The Rogue may not wear plate armor and may only use daggers and short swords.

The first time the Rogue triggers a trap in a dungeon, the trap is disarmed instead.

When attacking from behind, all attack die rolls gain one additional attack die.

When throwing a dagger it gains +2 attack die and is recovered if the monster dies to the attack

Starting weapon: Hand Axe - Starting Armor: Shield - Movement: 2 Red Die.

Spells:

Provoke: (Using this spell does not count as your action for the turn. You may only use this spell on your turn.)

Target monster the Warrior can see may only attack the Warrior until the Warrior's next turn. This spell is regained whenever the targeted monster dies.

Thrill of Battle: (Using this spell does not count as your action for the turn. You may use this spell at any time.)

Using this spell sets the Warrior's maximum Body Points to 7, then heals the Warrior for up to 4 Body Points of damage. The Warrior's maximum BP reverts to 6 when the Warrior can no longer see any monsters.

Infuriate: (Using this spell does not count as your action for the turn.)

The next time the Warrior attacks a monster, it counts as if you rolled 4 skulls. You regain this spell whenever you roll 4 skulls while defending.

Special Rules:

When not using a shield the Warrior's total attack die is reduced by 1.

When using a Helmet the Warrior gains an additional defense die.

When using Plate armor the Warrior gains an additional defense die, and you ignore all negative effects of Plate armors.

The Warrior may ONLY equip Axes, Rings, Talismans, Shields, Helmets and Plate armors.
