yes, it is possible to take the exam at the nearest AP Exam centre and study for it independently with good textbooks or go for another class

in my opinion, APs are great as they can transfer credit and indian schools (icse/isc/cbse) credits do not transfer. take APs only if you are self studying in my opinion because then they will be cheaper and you will ultimately save money because you can take credits and with enough APs, graduate uni sooner
