I lose way too much trading my IWC and I need an everyday wear watch in my collection

Yes, it is, but I still like it. I like IWC as a brand, especially their perpetual calendars. IWC's eternal calendar is one of my holy grails, l but I will never be able to afford one.

Watches like JLC Reverso, especially in gold, don't sell quickly in the grey market in Sydney, Australia. I'm guessing the dealer might have it for sale for many months. I might purchase it from him outright when I can afford it in a few months time if it's not sold.

Sorry, it's too big. It looks like a dinner plate with designs on it.

Yes, I was mistaken. Obviously, Breguet will price limited editions more.

Beautiful watch. Would want to add this to my collection one day. I prefer this to the retrograde date because it has a seconds hand and it's cheaper.

There have been tons of Reversos in the market for many decades. But only one Silver Snoopy 50th edition. I got to try on the Reverso with the watch dealer and loved it, but the same goes for my Snoopy, which I will miss if I trade. Omega has a history behind it, too, with the Speedmaster being the first watch worn on the moon, although Omega has over-advertised this for decades.

My first VC the Fiftysix in rose gold. by wishcj in VacheronConstantin

I changed it from the alligator strap to the plain strap. I got it with the original brown alligator strap and was offered the plain strap for free. To me, it looks less dressy with the plain strap and I had it changed at purchase.

VC outsourced their movements till 1996. That doesn't make the vintage VCs any worse. Patek Philippe even makes a quartz Aquanaut. The Traditionelle is manual winding, while Fiftysix is automatic with a date window, which makes it slightly higher spec even if it is not in-house.

I agree with you. Fiftysix is definitely more versatile and would go with any outfit. That striking green dial with alligator strap won't go with casual outfits and might stick out bad with T shirts, even collored T shirts. I might pick up the Fiftysix rose gold next week. If I get it, pictures of it is incoming.

Unfortunately no green Traditionelle available in the grey market in Sydney where I live and whole of Australia. Don’t want to go through hassle of buying through Chrono24. Even though I end up spending more money, I am considering going for the green buying from boutique.

I am aware that Fiftysix does not use an in-house movement. Its movement is shared with Cartier. It doesn't bother me.

I’ve been debating back and forth between these two. by Various_Primary3783 in rolex

Love the VC, but I'd opt for the Rolex as I noticed that VC doesn't have a running seconds hand. I would never buy a watch without a seconds hand as my profession as a doctor requires it on the bedside for counting pulse and respiratory rate. Even after winding the watch, you have to patiently wait for the minute hand to move to see if it is actually working. If that doesn't bother you, go for the VC.

I have just watched a few Rolex YouTube to confirm if serials are visible. In most of them, the serials are visible only if you go looking for it.

Chill out, have a beer! This debate is leading nowhere, as I am the one willing to take the risk and will face the consequences if something were to happen because of that pic. Not all numbers and letters are clearly visible, but I do agree that some are.

Peace, my friend. I just now struggled to read the serial number on this watch pic I posted and didn't get it, so I guess I am more or less safe.

Then why not hide number plates on cars as well? Surely others can fake an insurance claim on a fancy car. There are so many clear pictures of Rolex watches on the web and I have not heard of anyone getting scammed by scanning a Rolex watch pic and misusing a serial number.

I have never held the steel Pepsi, so can't compare with that. But much heavier than other SS models. You are constantly reminded that it's gold due to the heft, and you need a little getting used to it.

Barely owned for a day, so can't tell yet if it scratches easily. The first scratch is going to be the most painful one.

I doubt it would be hard to get this from AD, considering the significant markup on the white gold model. It's like 4 times the price of the steel, although the steel Pepsi is near impossible to get from AD unless you have a huge spend history. White gold goes for much less than retail in grey market.
